Thank you to Anika Moa and her crew for a brilliant gig on friday night at the Savage Club. We can't wait to see you again in Wanganui. Hope you enjoyed your time and was well rested for your next gig.

Riverview Motel The motel is set on the banks of the beautiful and historic Whanganui River in a quiet location with ample off-street parking. 15 units: self-catering 1-bedroom units to family suites, 2 units with river views and 10 ground-floor rooms. Guest laundry facilities on site.

We offer FREE WiFi (1st 50MB) in our spacious affordable units, which are spotlessly clean and smokefree. Only a 5min walk to the city centre, restaurants, cafés, museum, art galleries and riverboats. The fabulous river walkway passes right outside our door.

Here at Riverview Motel we facilitate both the business and leisure traveller. Units feature flat-screen TVs (with SKY) and spa baths. Our room service offers continental or cooked breakfasts, so why not treat yourself.

To be sure, we are the best place to rest your head in wonderful Wanganui.

We are open for business. Wanganui is alive and kicking. There is a lot of cleaning being done but we are all trucking on here. Luckily on this part of the hill Riverview motel was not affected directly by the water but it came close. All the photos are within 500mtrs of us!.

New Zealand Masters Games

Last few days of the Masters Games. Medals galore for everyone (except me! Karen) Mark is out there today giving it his best at Bocca. May we get at least One medal. Our guest however have done far better with many medals clinking their way in. Well done to everyone who competed. See you all in 2 years. Marks medal update tonight.

New Zealand Masters Games The New Zealand Masters Games is the largest multi-sport event in New Zealand. The 2023 Downer New Zealand Masters Games will be held in Whanganui from 3-12 February 2023.

This weekend is the wanganui Harrier Club's 3 Bridges Marathon - so called because the course encompasses The Dublin Street Bridge, The City Bridge and the Cobham Bridge.

The youngest member of The Riverview Motel is PAINSTAKINGLY waiting for Santa to develop. He's singing away Christmas songs as he passes the time. He rejoices and shouts Happy Christmas. ....when all done.

It's Open Studio weekend again. Wanganui has some amazing stuff/people/places/creations for you to come explore/see/touch and just delight in. Perfect weather to do it too. If you need to rest yourself after your exhausting day we have rooms available. We Welcome you.

Another terrific week had in Wanganui. The National Bowls Championship was held here. A whopping 600 men were in town to win! Here's a bunch of likely lads waiting for the bus early in the morning. The place will be quiet without them tonight!. Spot the Billy no mates :-)

Yesterday the paddle steamer Waimarie provided the stage for 'Opera on the river'. And while the Opera Week will have its final concert tomorrow evening, we have a new event starting tomorrow (18th - 20th January 2014): Whanganui Vintage Weekend!
