We have not seen so many Princesses and Pirates on the paddle steamer as we did today. So many that we had to modify our treasure hunt, sorry about that!

With the rising tide and some gentle persuasion from the Coastguard vessel the tree cleared the paddle steamer and was towed well clear, hopefully never to be seen again!
Huge thanks to the Coastguard Whanganui team for helping us out, your assistance was hugely appreciated. ⚓️

A repost from this time last season. It was a gorgeous evening to be on the awa.
Our Queen of the River back on the water!
After a day of slipway repairs between the tides yesterday, we were all set to go for today.
With the steam traction engines in place guiding the cradle we were on the move, assisted by some manual leverage and a push from a digger.
The Coastguard assisted the Waimarie down river where she was off under her own steam.
Huge thanks to everyone who made today happen, the team from The Steam Traction Engine Society, Coastguard Wanganui, Digger Operator Mark from MJL Contractors, and our team of volunteers.
Wonderful to see her back on the river!⚓️
𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆!

Thanks also to Coastguard Wanganui for your assistance today.
Well done everyone and huge thanks for your efforts today and throughout the project! ⚓️
