NZ based knitting themed accessories: earrings/stitch markers/buttons/key rings and pins/badges. Custom orders welcome.

A lot of time and love goes into each “knitted” piece as it's meticulously handcrafted from polymer clay to make the faux knit texture.

Capital Fibre Fest doors are open 😍

Looking forward to Capital Fibre Fest next Saturday 9 May, 10 am - 3 pm, at Whirinaki Whare Taonga, Upper Hutt 😍

Hi, I’m Katrina of Knitty Kat, and I am based in Wellington. Knitty Kat was born as a way to combine two crafts that I love – knitting and polymer clay (and yes I love cats too!). I have been a crafter/maker my whole life, and when I’m not “knitting” with polymer clay you can find me knitting with yarn and I always have at least one project on the go on my needles.
I hand make fun knitting themed accessories such as earrings, buttons, badges/brooches, and key rings/bag clips – all made out of premium light weight polymer clay. A lot of time and love goes into each “knitted” piece as it's meticulously handcrafted to look like it's knitted (no moulds, rollers or stamps are used to make the faux knit texture). I also make stitch markers for knitting/crochet, including super cute balloon dog and cat ones.

It's nearly winter here in NZ (eeeek!) which also means it's nearly the start of the main yarn/fibre market season - yippee! I am planning to be at 3 yarn/fibre markets/events this year with my Knitty Kat wares:

🧶First up is Capital Fibre Fest here in Wellington - Sat 9 May :-)

🧶Then I will be at WoolFeast Christchurch - Sunday 21 June (looking forward to my first ever Woolfeast and visiting Christchurch 😁)

🧶 And in August I am planning to be at Knit August Nights in Ahuriri, 27 - 30 August

❤❤❤

Thought I would share my current knitting project with you all - I am so pleased with it so far 💚🩵 It is a summer top - the pattern is Paloma by Truly Myrtle - the yarn I am using is "luxurious fusion" in the colour teal. It has a gorgeous lace pattern on the shoulders which I love 💚🩵 Have finished the neckband and completed one sleeve, now I am going to knit a bit more of the body then when I get bored of that will complete the other sleeve lol. As usual my knitting is out of season so I look forward to wearing it next summer 💚🩵

Hi everyone, thought I should check in with you all for 2026 - hope everyone is safe and well. My heart is breaking for all those affected by the slip/landslide at Mt Maunganui - we were just at the mount last week on our family summer holiday (pic taken then). I am really hoping for a miracle and that all those missing at the campground are found alive 🙏 thoughts are with everyone affected by the wild weather here in NZ ❤ take care everyone xx

Wanting to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and hope you all have a lovely holiday break. Unfortunately Santa has brought me a nasty virus for Christmas 😞 so it will be a quiet one for us 🎄

Thank you so much for everyones support this year, it really does mean so much to me and is very much appreciated ❤

I just finished knitting my Alex sweater - pattern by Truly Myrtle, in Eros sport yarn, colour Bronze, from Skeinz. I love it and and really look forward to wearing it next winter. Looking forward to getting a summer knit onto my needles next when I feel up to it (sucks not even feeling up to knitting atm!)

My Chooice store is now closed for the holiday break - reopening 20 Jan 2026 - see you all in the New Year 🥰 Looking forward to seeing what 2026 brings ❤
