'I just need to cover the nips' 🧵😅
Altering this spectacular Wynn Hamlyn dress was a challenging joy ✨️
Being covered in buttons it couldn't go near the sewing machine. The client had trouble finding anything to wear under it that maintained the sheer element and didn't show beyond the edges of the dress but still gave her the coverage
After some deliberation on fabric colour, (n**e or navy) I drafted a small lining in a heavy weight knit and handstitched it in
Now it's back out in the wild turning heads just as it deserves 🧡💃

You know those rolled denim hems that unroll a bit everytime you wash them? 🧵
They're a quicker fix than you might you then and saves so much annoyance ✨️
Stitched these down for a client last year ready for some hot summer days (still waiting on those please and thank you mother nature 😉)

This alteration was from last year but was so special be able to help with 🧡🧵
The bride to be felt the original cups in this were all wrong, their colour ruined the illusion of 'sheer' this dress was calling for as they didn't match her skin tone
Turns out cups come in very limited colours unfortunately but she found some fabric that matched her skin tone allowing the front bodice to be lined restoring the sheer aspect and ensuring coverage ✨️
It's always a pleasure getting to work on such beautiful garments with lovely clients

Replicating some well loved pieces
Ever had a top you just loved so much you wish you had more?
The original top had been worn so much the fabric has disintegrating. Thankfully this client found some beautiful cotton fabrics from the Timaru Sewing Centre to create some replicas of this garment

Thankfully I can work some magic!
I had a client recently who seen these lemon pants I made for myself in my sewing room when she came in for a fitting
She loved them just as much as I did so I was lucky enough to make another pair just for her 🧵🧡

Oh hey 2026! First day back officially back on the sewing machines for me and it feels AMAZING! 🧵🧡
During the chaos of sewing before Christmas last year I managed to carve out some time to sew for myself
So I whipped up my favorite palazzo pants and a matching top for Christmas day ☀️
And the best part???
They're made out if TABLECLOTHS 🍋

Jumpsuit alteration complete! 🧵
More often than not, jumpsuits seem to be a tad short in the seat for most including this client so we lengthened it by adding a plain band at the waist
No more discomfort when sitting down in the fabulous piece 🧡
Because you know you'll wear the clothes you already own when they fit you well
