Switzerland just ranked 3rd in the world for peace. 🇨🇭
The 2026 Global Peace Index, produced by the Institute for Economics & Peace, ranks 163 countries across 23 indicators, from violent crime to involvement in armed conflict.
Switzerland climbed two places to third, behind only Iceland and New Zealand.
What puts it there isn't luck. It's stable institutions, low violent crime, strong rule of law and minimal involvement in external conflict: the quiet ingredients the report calls "positive peace." It's also part of why Geneva became home to 40+ international organisations: peace at home builds trust abroad. 🕊️

⏳ When should you start planning your move?
Ideally: 6–12 months ahead.
Why?
Because the earlier you prepare, the smoother everything becomes.
Last-minute decisions often lead to unnecessary stress.
A structured plan changes everything.

One thing that truly stands out in New Zealand
Nature is part of everyday life.
It’s not something you plan once a year — it’s something you live alongside.
And for many people, that changes everything.

Because nature just IS. We can sit still and be part of it; and can move with it.
Love where you are. Explore. Trust. Embrace.

Why we started Red Kite Relocation?
We moved from Switzerland to New Zealand over 3 years ago, with our young children. We had lots of support to find a job and get a visa, but we didn’t realise how unprepared we were regarding school, houses, work culture, food and so many other little things.
With time we adjust, we adapt, but we could have made the better informed decisions from the start.
Now we are in a great place and would like to pay it forward by supporting other make the move calmly and thrive here.
We don’t just share information — we help you make sense of it, step by step.

What does everyday life really feel like in New Zealand?
It’s often simpler.
Less rush.

But it also requires adjustment.
Things may take longer.
Systems work differently.
And you need to find your rhythm again.
That’s part of the journey — and also part of the reward.
