It's interesting to note that the lodge is now much busier during the warmer months than in winter. The same applies for the mountain as well! More folk are visiting the mountain in summer than winter. Our lodge guests are mainly trampers, bikers (push and motor) and fishers.

Lodge prepped and ready for our large Pasifika group who will be visiting this weekend. Have fun in the snow.

Just returned from getting the lodge ready for our Winter Guests. Lodge fully booked on weekends through to end of August. Very cold and wet - plenty of snow falling on the mountains.

Popping down to the lodge over the weekend. Lodge prep for mountain bikers coming next weekend. Will take the opportunity to do a winter walk into Whakapapaiti Hut for an overnighter!

Wild weather hitting the Central Plateau today and tomorrow. Snow base for the winter season??

Had a great time in Rotorua. Brian completed the marathon and Lata the quarter. Owhango is going to be very busy this weekend because the 42T is based in the Owhango Domain. Mountain biking, fun runs and marathon running in the Tongariro Forest.

Taking a quick trip to Bushline Lodge midweek to check it out before heading to Rotorua to compete in the marthon this weekend. Updated the website this week (at last)!

First bookings for the winter season have been confirmed. Guests are returning and have received recommendations from others who have stayed at Bushline.

Got Freeview installed last week at Bushline! Now we have 15 channels of crystal clear vision. That's if you want to stay indoors when there is so much wilderness to explore!!

Been really busy lately - but no excuses - will try and keep this FB page more up to date. All the best to Friends of Bushline Lodge.

Just got back from a busy weekend at the lodge. Compost bin installed and three planter boxes for some colour in the garden. Some new snow fell on the mountain on Saturday.

Congratulations to Linda Strickson-Pua from Alofa Trampers who successfully completed Alpine Training on Ruapehu last weekend with Mountain Safety Council.

Lawns trimmed, lodge tidied up all ready for guests this weekend. Still plenty of snow on Ruapehu, but fast disappearing off Tongariro and Ngauruhoe.

Just returned from a pleasant weekend at the lodge. The dining table is looking sharp with a new coat of varnish! We were also pleased to see our "Feathered Friends" - Tuis, Parakeets, Kereru and Fantails - who visited our garden while we were there.

is waking up from a long "winter hibernation"! We have had a very busy period over the winter months.

Snow still falling up on the hill. Hope things are clear for our weekend expedition on Hauhungatahi!

Still plenty of activity on the mountain. Looks like the season will roll into October.

Seems like everyone is having an interesting time on the mountain this weekend. Hope our Bushline Lodge guests from Wellington are enjoying themselves. (Just as well there is still plenty of firewood in the shed!)

may expect the ski and boarding season to carry on into spring, as new powder snow has been falling over the last two days. When I was at The Chateau today it was really blowing a gale - but the forecast is for settled weather over the weekend.

now has 24 fans. We will have to try and keep the page interesting for you. Everyone is welcome to start discussions or make comments on the ones already started. Cheers, Brian

We're glad our guests would have had a great day on the mountain today. Weather forecasts for tomorrow are for rain and strong winds!

has been fully booked for all weekends through to early September - so the word must be spreading about what a great place it is! :-)

Another 10cm of new snow fell at Whakapapa last night. Hopefully the winter season on the ski fields will be a long one.

Welcome to Jane - Bushline Fan #11! I heard via the Alofa Tramper grapevine that you were in Auckland last week Jane. Interesting to see that we are getting more folk from Wellington showing an interest in the lodge. Maybe they want to find out what's on the northern side and escape from the crowds at Turoa.

Hi to the fans of Bushline Lodge. Just got back from the lodge today. Setting it up for folk from Wellington who will staying for 4 days later in the week. We received our first official feedback on Book a Bach today. :-) Brian
