Flinders Islet Race wrap up! Thank you all for following along 🙌

💨 40+ KNOTS & EPIC 🌊That was an absolute beast of a race. Heading north into a brutal southerly with a savage sea state. The waves were incredibly steep, trying to throw the boat sideways. We took a few wild wipeouts ourselves. A massive gust slammed down from a black cloud, instantly wiping out all three Class40s around us at the exact same time. It was a war of attrition out there. Three boats crossed the finish line with their sails completely wrapped around their forestays—but NOT us!

Our incredible crew dug in and worked their absolute socks off. We downshifted to 3 reefs and the J3, keeping the boat moving fast and safe. Top speed: a blistering 17.8 knots.

Massive credit to the team for keeping the rig intact and bringing her home in one piece. What a ride!

Jackets on for warmth back up the coast but 34 degrees out at South West Sydney (glad for work aircon) and out of control bush fires 🔥Only in Australia!

It’s close out there with the Class40’s! Less than a mile between Yeh Baby, First Light and Vixen Racing!

We have left Pittwater and heading to one of our homes away from home Middle Harbour Yacht Club ⛵️🌊

Thank you to The Quays Marina We enjoyed a good meal and relaxed at the hotel after the passage.

Yesterday gave us an experience we won’t forget anytime soon… 🐋

Multiple whales appeared around Vixen, creating an incredible but slightly scary moment as we carefully navigated our way between them without incident. Seeing these magnificent animals so close from the ocean is something pretty special!

From whales and wild weather to a safe arrival in Pittwater — it’s certainly been an adventure aboard Vixen Racing!

Yesterday with the Southerly firmly in at 28 knots and a rough sea state we decided to pull into Pittwater for a lovely dinner and a great sleep.

We are off to Middle Harbour Yacht Club shortly. 28nm south!

What a sunrise off Port Stephens this morning!

There’s not a great deal of wind out there at the moment, but in roughly four hours that southerly buster is expected to hit. So there are a few tactical decisions to make as the crew works out the right layline for Sydney.

After a quiet few weeks on socials, we hope you enjoy following along and listening to Richard, Courtney, Natalie and Skipper Sharon as they share their journey down the coast aboard Vixen Racing.
