🏁 Hampton Downs Academy 🏁

Pretty good day yesterday at the Level 3 Hampton Downs academy! 👌

The morning started off wet 🌧️, so I learnt a lot as I haven’t had much running in the wet before. We then had one dry session at the end of the day ☀️ and I managed to put in a lap that was 4 tenths quicker than Liam Lawson’s time, which I was pretty stoked with! 😁

Huge thanks to Dan, Hugo and Tom for all their help throughout the day and for helping me find more speed. 📈

Race week for Round 2 of the Trophy Series at Taupo motorsport park!

After a couple of really positive test days up here, I’m feeling comfortable in the car and can’t wait to get stuck into another weekend of racing. Hopefully we can keep the momentum going and extend our lead in the Trophy Series championship.

Good few days up in the North Island testing at Taupo and Manfeild.

On Wednesday we had a test day at Taupo and I felt really comfortable straight away. We managed to do a 1:41.8, which was 1 tenth faster than last year’s pole time, so I was pretty stoked with that.

Today we had a test day at Manfeild. It was my first time at the track and I felt quick straight away. We had a really good day, completed plenty of laps, and worked on some practice starts to get them dialled in before the weekend.

A huge thank you to Mackenzie for all the time and effort put into the car and for travelling from track to track. Thanks to Alex Salter and Ron for letting us borrow their car for our North Island adventure, and thanks to Mike for taking me up here and putting up with me all week!

A massive thank you to Pop, Jo, and Dad. None of this would be possible without all the time, effort, and support you put in behind the scenes. I couldn’t do any of this without you guys.

What a weekend at Hampton Downs competing in Round 1 of the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing New Zealand Trophy Series 🏁 Definitely a weekend I won’t forget as I made my debut in the series with Mackenzie Motorsport 👊

We started the weekend off strong, setting the fastest laps all through practice before putting the car on pole position by just 0.006 of a second ⏱️🔥

Race 1 didn’t have the best start, but I had an awesome battle with Nathan and Ajay all race long. Huge congrats to Nathan Grammer Racing on taking his first race win 🏆

Race 2 on Sunday morning had me starting from pole again after setting the fastest lap in Race 1. Once again I didn’t get the best launch and dropped one position off the start, but had another great battle with Ajay who managed to hold me off 🤝

Race 3 was the reverse top 5, so I started P4. I got a great start, made one pass early and then pulled off another move around the outside which was pretty cool 😅 I was then chasing down Toby and felt like we definitely had the pace to fight for the win, but unfortunately the safety car came out and we finished under yellow with P2 🚧🥈

Overall, still an awesome weekend and I’m super happy to come away with strong results, even though I’m gutted not to get that first race win yet.
