It's been a long time coming but we're almost there on August 30th TORO Studios will be launching TORO Academy!

We are absolutely excited for Young Animators to be a part of this awesome kaupapa as a next step for our rangatahi!

We have 20 scholarships available for anyone 16+ and Māori who is interested in a career in VFX and animation. This will be run in the Waikato for 16 weeks, with 10 guaranteed internships for the highest ranking students.

Creative in Schools Fund Applications for Round 3 are now open, and will close on 20 August 2021. Up to 117 projects will be funded for Round 3, which will take place in 2022.

Toropapa yesterday's day01
An hour drive between Napier and Taupō to Toropapa.

We arrived at Toropapa Hutt and set up our equipment after doing our whakatau. What a cool day, we walked the whenua where Tāne o Kura lived, heard the kōrero and then started creating an animation about him.

What an awesome day 🙂

With Te Wānanga O Aotearoa, NNMD, Young Animators and its partners are proud to deliver Kanorau Digital, a digital literacy skills and capability training programme for Māori and Pasifika whānau.

This programme aims to provide core foundation digital skills and knowledge that will enable whānau to participate in a digitally enabled world and close the digital divide. This is an amazing opportunity for our Māori and Pasifika whanau who wish to learn basic digital skills for at home use and to up skill in a forever evolving digital world.

We will be delivering this programme in:
- South Auckland
- West Auckland
- Hamilton
- Te Awamutu
- Kaitaia
- Kaikohe
