Over the past three years at Tirohanga, we’ve had the privilege of walking alongside many māmā, pēpi, and whānau as our programmes have taken shape. The support, trust, and aroha shared here have truly been the heart of this journey.
As we prepare to move to a new location, our focus is on refining how we can best nurture and uplift whānau in the chapters ahead.
For now, we’re pressing pause on expressions of interest but please stay connected with us here for updates. Thank you for being such an important part of our story so far. We can’t wait to step into this new season together 💚

Parenting can feel overwhelming. If you’re running on empty, just know you’re not failing, you’re human.
Swipe through for four small reminder that might help ease the load, even just a little.
Each one is a gentle nudge towards grace, not pressure. You don’t need to do it all. You don’t need to do it perfectly. You just need to keep showing up - and you already are.
You are enough. You are doing enough. You are not alone. 💚

Mānawatia a Matariki ✨
Matariki invites us to pause. To remember those we’ve lost. To celebrate those around us. To prepare for the new year ahead.
At Tirohanga, we reflect using the framework that underpins everything we do - Nature, Nurture, Nourish.
Matariki is not about rushing. It’s about honouring the rhythm of life and tending to the parts of us that need light.
This new year, may your journey be rooted in aroha, grounded in whenua, and guided by the stars 💚

Meet Jay - our incredible Sleep Support Consultant 💚
When you attend your first visit to our Māmā and Pēpi Programme, you’ll have the option to choose up to two nurturing services for your and/or your Pēpi. Sleep Support is one of them - and we’re so lucky to have Jay here to guide our Māmā through it.
With a background in Early Childhood Education and experience as a postnatal doula, Jay brings both knowledge and compassion to every session. She’ll spend two hours with you, helping you understand your pēpi’s unique sleep needs and giving you the confidence to respond in a way that feels right for you.

Becoming a parent isn’t just a big shift for māmā—it’s a huge change for tāne as well. Whether you’re a dad, partner, koro, uncle or close friend, your wellbeing matters.
Tāne often carry the role of supporter, but they also need space to rest, talk, and process everything that comes with welcoming pēpi into the world.
At Tirohanga, we welcome the wider whānau—not just mums. When tāne are supported, the whole whānau is stronger.

Parenthood is often described as a journey - but it’s not one you walk alone. Behind every parent are the quiet supporters who step in with love and care when it’s needed most.
Acts of kindness may seem small, but they create a ripple effect of love, connection, and community.
Do you have a Hidden Helper in your life? Someone whose quiet support made your parenting journey a little easier? Share below, and together we can celebrate their kindness 👇🏼💚

Did you know that by 6 months, pēpi’s natural iron stores start to run low? Thankfully, this is also around the same time we start introducing solids 🙌🏽
Animal based Iron (easier for Pēpi to absorb):
🥩 beef | 🍗 chicken | 🐟 salmon and sardines | 🥚 egg yolk
Plant-based Iron (best paired with vitamin c for better absorption):
🍠 kūmara | 🥦 broccoli | 🥬 spinach | 🫘 chickpeas, lentils and beans
👶🏽 Try combining both types for a balanced boost:
- Mashed kūmara with shredded chicken
- Scrambled egg yolk with steamed broccoli
- Blended lentils with soft beef mince
Let us know what your pēpi’s favourite food combos are!!

Our Māmā and Pēpi Programme wraps up with our Nourish day — a time to focus on nourishing both māmā and pēpi.
The morning begins with a calming mindfulness session, giving māmā space to relax and recharge. In the afternoon, we dive into a practical nutrition workshop, where we explore how to introduce solids to pēpi with confidence and care.
We are so proud of our Māmā and Pēpi Programme and the care and support we are able to provide whānau within our community 💚

Our Pēpi, so small yet so treasured, are a reminder that the tiniest things can hold the greatest value. Just like Pēpi are taonga, small acts of kindness, connection, and care can also make a big impact.
Whether it’s a smile, a kind word, or time spent with whānau, these moments are treasures.
Let’s celebrate the little things that make a big difference 💚
