I need to put a permanent 'keep left' in my pace notes...
I smashed the wing mirror last year at Waitomo Rally, and hadn’t bothered to change it all summer, but then the day before the Possum Bourne Memorial I realised I had a spare one so Dad kindly swapped them over before we put the car on the trailer, unfortunately the new wing mirror lasted less than 24hr before meeting the same fate as its predecessor. Any point replacing it again? 😅

How I turn the Subaru into a tight hairpin with no room on entry or exit. Slid a bit wide trying to show off to the many spectators watching but didn’t lose too much time 😂 Would rather not clutch kick or use the clutch at all but it helped get out of the hole!

Possum Bourne Memorial Rally in pictures. Lucky to have a great service crew of Dad, Glyn and Scott (just missing Garreth away sick 🤒) and Mum and Tahlia chasing us around the stages - it’s not easy driving many kilometres through the middle of nowhere to catch us driving past for 5 seconds, thanks for the support fam 😍

SS5 Woodleigh, second pass of our favourite stage of the day. Suited the car well and we found a good rhythm, Nathan was on point with the notes (when he wasnt hyping me up mid corner 🤣). 6th fastest in this stage 0.4sec off 5th place Mason Grimmer in the Mazda. Small clip here but full onboard is live on YouTube. Awesome to see all the spectators lining the stages, send us your videos if you have them!
Pretty stoked with today’s result, awesome battles with the everyone around us trading times, those roads were incredible. 5th overall and 1st in class. Got some good in car video so will post that up in the next few days.
7th overall at 2nd service. 4 stages to go. Dads had a fall if you are around come see if he’s ok
Loaded up for the rally tomorrow, last minute stress discovering the clutch slave cylinder had bust a seal and was leaking all over the place. Luckily made it to Apex Auto Centre just before closing at 4:30 to get a rebuild kit. That’s all sorted now and clutch working as it should. First stage at 9am tomorrow let’s get it. Thanks Tony and the team at Speedy L**e & Tyre for sorting out tyre fitting and wheel alignment for the wagon this week. Nice to confirm all 4 wheels are pointing in the right direction. T-minus 2 days. Discovered a small oil leak so need to sort that out before we load up.
