A father & son were lucky two Surf Lifeguards happened to be in the right place at the right time on Sunday when they were swept out to sea by strong currents in an outgoing tide.

Well done to Waikanae Surf Life Saving Club members Travis Mitchell & Harry Allan for helping to ensure this story had a happy ending!

Remember, if you see someone in trouble at the beach, ring 111 and ask for the Police โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’›

Tonight we share with you the second of our Waihi Beach Lifeguards Isolation lockdown videos after being nominated by Sumner Surf Life Saving Club

This edition is brought to you by father & daughter combo Michael and Jess, who live here at Waihi Beach. One of the many families through generations we have as a part of our club.
Jess is one of our senior lifegaurds at the club, and dad Michael is a part of the very presegious masters patrol, as a patrol support guard.

Today marks the day that was supposed to be our last patrol of the season, as easter weekend is our final weekend. But, due to a bat being eaten and Covid-19 ensuing we haven't been able to wrap up the season how we would've liked together.

None the less, Michael and Jess were looking out for us at the beach this weekend from the comforts within their bubble of their own home.
Have a watch and enjoy.

Feel free to share around and nominate other clubs/clubbies to get involved.
