We asked Ann what she enjoys most from her biography role. She replied: It is such a privilege to briefly enter a stranger’s life, in order to sensitively record the feelings, memories, stories, perhaps jokes and more that the person wishes to be remembered by.

Have you started your Christmas shopping yet?
One great present is a gift voucher, and you can buy one from our Hospice Shop. You're not only supporting Hospice, but you're also recycling, reusing and repurposing.
These would make fabulous secret santa gifts or that hard to buy for family member or just a friend who loves to op shop.
Next time you're in just ask our friendly staff at the counter for assistance.

A wonderful afternoon was spent preparing and wrapping these lovely shortbread treat packs by our volunteers. Thank you to everyone who baked or donated sweet treats and to the team in the photos for such a christmassy afternoon.
These will be delivered to our patients.

It’s sometimes difficult to decide what stories we’ll share in our quarterly newsletters because there are so many supportive, caring individuals and organisations who partner with us to make it possible to deliver free palliative care services to people in our community
In our Summer Newsletter you’ll read about a few of them, we take the opportunity to acknowledge many of our supporters over the last year, and we've created a Wish List in response to the many people who often ask us what they can do to help provide for our patients and whānau.
The newsletter is just a click away https://www.hospicetairawhiti.org.nz/assets/Uploads/Hospice-Summer-Newsletter-1222-e-newsletter.pdf
As you read the newsletter, you’ll see that there are lots of reasons the board and staff at Hospice Tairāwhiti can say ‘it’s because of our community we could do what we did in 2022.” Thank you.

TONIGHT - AND YOU'RE INVITED!
Toimatapu (Visual Arts) at Te Wananga o Aotearoa Gisborne would like to invite you and your networks to attend the November arts exhibition. Every year Toimatapu run an auction alongside the exhibition where the proceeds are donated toward two of our community services. This year again we are happy to be supporting Hospice Tairāwhiti and C Company House in recognition of the support and care these organisations put into our community.

This is the 9th year that Farmers have supported hospices nationally in the lead up to Christmas with customers donating a generous $6 million over that time, helping keep hospice services free of charge.
There are two ways you can support us during this time. Up until Christmas Eve you can donate to the Christmas Tree of Remembrance set up inside the front entrance of Farmers Gisborne, or by purchasing a limited-edition hand painted hospice bauble, available instore and online.
Each bauble is $10 and thanks to the generous support of Farmers, the full $10 from every purchase stays in our community and is donated to Hospice Tairāwhiti. Farmers also passes on 100% of all customer donations to hospice from the Tree of Remembrance.

🤗 NOW THAT is something worth shouting about! As with all volunteers in our community our Hospice volunteers are worth their weight in gold.

The volunteers are getting excited about Christmas.🎄
We have been frantically getting all the decorations priced and ready for the Christmas shop opening on Saturday at 10am.
If I was you I'd get in quick, once it's gone, that's it until next year.
If you missed the opening of our new building a few weeks ago you'll want to watch this short video. We have a building that reflects the hospice philosophy of care, and provides for both our patients and staff and whānau. This is an environment that fully supports our staff and allied staff, provides space for doctors, nurses, the counsellor, so we can continue to deliver free high quality palliative care services to our community.

Have you got a passion for purses and shoes?
Work with a team of people with a passion for fashion at our local hospice shop.

With every $10 spent we'll stamp your card and when you have filled your card, we then give YOU $10 off your next purchase in store.
We're not finished...when you redeem your $10, fill in your details on the back of the card and you go into our monthly draw, you could win a $20 gift voucher to treat yourself in the shop.
It's just our way of saying thank you for supporting us. Come on lets get shopping!

“Many Backgrounds – One Profession – Stronger Together”
Here in New Zealand November 4th is International Volunteer Managers Day. The theme conveys a strength the volunteer leadership sector possesses that we don’t draw on enough… the huge and diverse range of backgrounds that volunteering leaders come from.
And here at Hospice Tairāwhiti we have the best volunteer coordinator, Jane Kibble. Jane is someone who cares for our volunteers in so many ways. And in response, our volunteers awhi our patients and support the kauapapa of Hospice Tairāwhiti in amazing ways. Kei runga noa atu koe - You're the best Jane!.
