Last week, our Board Chair Frances Blyth joined others at Parliament for the launch of the Decade for Healthy Ageing Pledges — a shared commitment to supporting the wellbeing and inclusion of older people across Aotearoa.

The five pledges call on government, cross-party representatives, and organisations across all sectors to take practical steps that support healthy ageing — through collaboration, policy, and community action.

For the first time, there are now more people aged over 65 than under 15 — a demographic shift that touches every part of our society and reminds us how important it is to plan for longer lives that are lived well.

💬 “Our ageing population brings both opportunity and responsibility. Healthy ageing also means supporting people living with dementia | mate wareware and their care partners to live well at every stage.”
- Frances Blyth, Chair, Dementia New Zealand

Ngā mihi to everyone involved in this week’s event for contributing to the shared vision of longer, better, more sustainable lives.
