💙 Gratitude in action 💙
Today, we had the privilege of welcoming Julie and her daughters, Kate and Anna, back to Ward 5 at North Shore Hospital to honour the memory of their much-loved husband and father, Peter.
Peter passed away under the compassionate care of the wonderful Ward 5 team, and in his memory, Julie wanted to pay it forward for other families facing similar circumstances. Through a generous donation it has enabled a La-Z-Boy chair to be gifted to the ward, providing comfort and support for loved ones spending long hours at a patient's bedside.
During their visit, Julie, Kate and Anna had the opportunity to thank Charge Nurse Coralyn and Shyleena, one of the nurses who cared for Peter during his time on the ward.
This thoughtful donation, made possible by Julie’s suggestion to family and friends of a donation in-lieu of flowers is a beautiful example of gratitude and generosity. It will make a meaningful difference to countless families in the years ahead.
Thank you, Julie, Kate and Anna, for choosing to honour Peter's memory in such a special way and for giving back to the hospital team and the patients and families who will follow in your footsteps.

💙 A huge thank you to the incredible young women of Bristol House for their generosity and community spirit.
The seven flatmates recently hosted a ball in “Support of Women and Their Reproductive Systems" and have generously donated the $1,520 they raised to support gynaecological cancer research initiatives.
With strong links to health through their studies in medicine and nursing, these young women understand the importance of advancing research and improving outcomes for women affected by gynaecological cancers.
This is a wonderful example of young people paying it forward and supporting causes that will benefit others for generations to come.
Thank you, the Bristol House flatmates, for turning fun, friendship and fundraising into meaningful impact.
We are incredibly grateful for your support. 💙

Well Foundation was honoured to be invited as the charity partner for the Waitematā Preoperative Symposium held at North Shore Hospital this weekend.
We value every opportunity to support the incredible work of our clinical staff, while also helping staff better understand how Well Foundation transforms the gratitude of patients into meaningful impact across our hospitals and healthcare services.

A generous gift is making a real difference on Ward 12 at North Shore Hospital 💙
Thanks to a donation from the family member of a patient, alongside a gift left to Well Foundation through a Will, we were able to purchase a new Care Chair for the ward.
Designed to enhance comfort and support for patients during their hospital stay, this chair is already helping create a more caring and comfortable environment for those who need it most.
We’re so grateful to everyone who chooses to give back in ways that leave a lasting impact on our hospitals and community.
🏥 Happy International Nurses Day!!
Today we celebrated the nurses who care for our community every day.
For , we were proud to support the (RRT) in providing free meals to nurses across North Shore and Waitākere Hospitals, with around 2,000 meals shared throughout the day as a small thank you for the extraordinary work they do.
The initiative is part of a nationwide campaign that will see RRT deliver more than 29,000 meals across 44 hospitals throughout New Zealand.
Well Foundation Chair David Downs also spoke as part of the organised celebrations, and we were proud to sponsor the Nursing Philanthropy Champion Award. The award recognises a nurse whose leadership and advocacy extend beyond their clinical role to help strengthen community support for our hospitals, with the recipient receiving $1,000 towards their personal development 💙
To all nurses, thank you for the care, compassion and dedication you bring to our hospitals and our community every day!

🩺 Happy International Day of the Midwife! 💙
Behind every safe arrival, every reassured parent, every confident first hold, there’s a midwife.
Today we celebrate the incredible work of midwives across our region - the skill, the compassion and the presence in life’s most profound moments.
As we continue to support the construction of a new Primary Birthing Unit at Waitākere Hospital, days like today remind us exactly why this work matters. Purpose-built spaces for midwife-led care. More choice for West Auckland families. Babies welcomed closer to home, closer to their people.
Special thanks to The Trusts for their early support of this project. They'll be contributing to equipment for the planned pre and post natal education space . We look forward to sharing more with you about this exciting project.
This is what investing in community looks like. 💛
To every midwife reading this - thank you. Your skill, your compassion, your presence in the hardest and most joyful moments, it matters more than words can say.
Something as simple as sitting well can make all the difference 💛
Thanks to the generosity of our community, the Children’s Ward at Waitākere Hospital now has a specialised tumble form feeding chair and tray.
For Speech and Language Therapists, feeding is a big part of their work. Supporting a child to learn how to eat safely and confidently starts with the basics and that includes posture. If a child is using all their energy just to stay upright, it becomes much harder to focus on chewing, swallowing, and building those essential skills.
This chair provides the stability and support children need, helping them feel safe, comfortable, and ready to learn.
A small piece of equipment with a huge impact. Thank you for making this possible.
