Well another weekend that didn’t go to plan………
Had a good couple of practice sessions on Friday ended up 7th-8th and really looking forward to putting new tires on for qualifying
Pretty pleased with qualifying 5th.
First race and we managed to pass last year champion and come home 4th…..
Race 2 we started 4th and we managed to make it to the front early on, a mistake locking a wheel meant we lost the lead but maintained 2nd for most of the race
Unfortunately at about the halfway point the car was starting to not behave- that was the Wheelnut’s coming loose so was having massive breaking and turn in, with one lap to go the Wheelnut’s exited stage left, I thought a wheel bearing had collapsed but got a shock when I stopped on track and they were gone
Still came home 6th
Last race reversed top ten so we started 7th
Coming up to the start got punted up the ass and turned buy car 28 before we even crossed the start finish line sending us hard into the wall and across the track to again get slammed into by car 28 to end up on the other side of the track in the wall with more competitors coming to joint the fun of what looked like a plane crash
Positive of the weekend we learned some stuff and were competitive not slow ( still got some fight in the old dog)
And had a good time with all the boys and girls at action Motorsport
Negative of the weekend
A big bill to fix something of somebody stilly mistake trying to win before the first corner

Well that didn’t go to plan….. finals for the ORANZ national championship being held at Tect Pack by Waikato Offroad Club, great run event…..
it started off pretty good with us taking 1st in the first heat race and leading the second, until Kong stopped coming up to the last lap- it took us the rest of the day to find the problem, witch turned out to be a broken wire to the crank angle sensor…… fixed and we were back in the show for Sundays endurance race
We were lucky that we had set fastest time in the short course, giving us pole of the start…..
We lead from the start of the race and had it under control until Kong broke all the engine belts so no power steering no water pump no alternator….. water temp went through the roof and no voltage so ecu shut down…… game over……
Big thanks to Shane Alan Martin for all his hard work Crusty for sitting with me Marky for his help over the weekend and Mum and Dad….
We will be back with vengeance
Congratulations to all the finishers
And class winners
Well done to Nick Hall on NZ1

Not the results we wanted today….unfortunately we DNFed with a wheel bearing failure and a problem with our steering rack,
Positive outcome is we found why the car was handling like a bag of 💩at Nelson….. bit of work to do but KONG will be back to being a 🚀ship soon

Back from the Ruff N Tuff 250 held in Nelson…. Was the first time visiting Nelson and is a beautiful part of the country…. Thanks to the event organizers and Nelson Offroad Racing Club for a great run event,
Thanks to my guys Shane Alan Martin , Sam Martin David Templeman Mum and Lincoln Bramley for coming as co-driver with me…… sorry for keep giving us cold balls from the bloody water crossing……
Was a mixed bag for us in the race starting 5th and moving up to 2nd, a big mistake on my behalf spinning the car out on lap 4 and it taking what felt like ages to restart cost us a couple of places….
I really missed the set up with the car and we just struggled to get any power down and lacked traction, smoked my mud muncher on my helmet so had to rip it of my visor….. was my bad as I just didn’t prepare it like I should have- that won’t happen again, am pretty pi**ed with myself about it…..but we live and learn
We crossed the line in 3rd overall but ended up 4th, don’t know how that works?
Will come back next year with what we learned and give it another shot
Lincoln you will have to come again and really feel what KONGS like when it’s on song
Thanks to Morgan Dumelow Motorsport for the killer shot
Also you should check out the Nelson car museum was pretty cool
Dad had a good run coming home 9th overall and 2nd in class - but a wee moment with the fuel gauge
