I was today years old when I discovered that the bottom of the 4099 gooseneck is a microdot.
Can’t believe this isn’t common knowledge and we fiddled with the tiny little cable for so long.

snare trigger gotcha...
It’s dual zone, which is cool for drum modules - but the way it is wired is bad for triggering gates.
Rim sensor goes to pin 2, head sensor goes to pin 3, which means each hit will be out of phase on the gate trigger input. Wire both to pin 2 and swipe to see the difference in the transient

If any of my touring friends are missing that feeling of fixing things totally outside their job description and not being paid for it - I highly recommend volunteering at a repair cafe, it’s practically the same thing!
