From the heart today, I just want to say a massive thank you! I know a lot of you have been here from the beginning when I started Hello World and then through my sewing journey and now Ames Store. I've been doing this Instagram and Facebook thing for quite a long time now and I finally come to their realisation that it's simply not working for me.
So much time and effort goes into producing reels and posts and stories and trying to connect with people and finding those followers that love and support and ultimately purchase the clothing that I design & produce, however these platforms take up so much of my time without giving me any real results. So I simply can't keep putting all my energy into these spaces that aren't producing any real movement in my business. I’m also not in a position to spend tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars on ads and marketing!
Ames Store has struggled to make a profit and I know that's true for a lot of small businesses especially in fashion. I've never been able to pay myself a wage & it's now It’s time to make some tough calls.
I’ve decided that we won't be producing a summer collection this year because I just simply can't afford to do it. Fingers crossed the economy will pick up next year but I've been hoping for that for a few years now.

Because of the lack of progress with Ames Store I decided to start on Instagram, I've always loved secondhand shopping, op shopping, thrifting whatever you like to call it. So if you're into sustainable shopping & love quality second hand clothing that's being curated. washed and posted out to you, give me a follow and tell everyone! I'm actually starting to make a tiny bit of money in that little business!
You will also be supporting all of the other businesses (most of which are charities) that I purchase & source from. As well as being a part of a more circular environmental economy!
