I love drawing inspiration from architecture as it holds so many parallels to dress making. Structure, form, spacial considerations and delicate detailing.

“Built in 1925 for Alliance Assurance. A stripped classical British design, the building is a rare example of the commercial architecture of Basil Hooper, who was better known for his arts and crafts houses.
The building contract was on of the biggest in Auckland at the time, valued at £6300.”
