The body thrown horizontally from a height moves along a parabola . This is because of uniform motion in horizontal direction and accelerated motion in vertical direction due to gravity .
Core idea:
Horizontal motion at constant velocity:
Vertical motion: acceleration is downward
That is why:
x = ut
y = −½gt²
R = u√(2h/g)
Physics is easy when we break the motion into horizontal and vertical components
