Nepal Police has arrested 26 individuals from various districts—including Kathmandu, Morang, Surkhet, Bardiya, Salyan, Chitwan, Sarlahi, and Rukum West for the possession of illicit drugs and contraband substances such as brown sugar, o***m, ma*****na, and various pharmaceutical tablets.

Police have arrested 35 people from different parts of Nepal on charges of drug-related offenses. The arrests were made during separate operations conducted in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Jhapa, Bardiya, Sunsari, Kanchanpur, Nuwakot, and Siraha.

According to Nepal Police, the suspects were found with illegal substances including brown sugar-like drugs. Security forces carried out coordinated raids in multiple locations. Further investigation is ongoing to identify others involved in the drug network.

In a major joint operation, Nepal Police, with the assistance of Indian authorities, rescued 453 Nepali citizens about half of whom are women from Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh, India, where they were kept under various pretexts including employment lures, and brought them back to Rupandehi via the Belahiya border on Saturday morning.

DP Aryal has urged people to keep the government accountable by “ringing the bell” as a form of warning against corruption. Speaking at a program in Kathmandu, he said citizens should not remain silent and must actively push for good governance and national development.

He also said that after the constitution is in place, people should take responsibility to support both the executive and legislative bodies. He called for cooperation in lawmaking, policy reform, and improving the country instead of staying passive.

Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has been admitted to Mediciti Hospital in Lalitpur after experiencing fever and cold for the past few days. Doctors suspected pneumonia-like symptoms and decided to keep him under observation for treatment. His health is improving, according to his press adviser.

Armed Police Force Nepal rescued 20 people safely from flood affected areas of Dodha River and Bahun Khola in Kanchanpur’s Punarbas. The incident happened after a sudden rise in water levels trapped locals who had gone to collect grass and herbs nearby.

The rescue was carried out with the help of trained disaster response teams, Nepal Police, local representatives, and residents. Authorities have urged people to remain cautious during the monsoon season as river levels can rise suddenly.
