🐠🐬World Ocean Day 2021 🐋🦈
To recognize and celebrate we chose the albatross, a marine bird that can ride the ocean winds for years at a time only touching land to mate and raise their young. When we think of we usually think of the health of the ocean and the creatures that live in the ocean. Today we wanted to bring attention to this incredible seabird that is being threatened with extinction by being entangled in fishing nets and from ingesting ocean plastic. Please and if you choose to buy seafood make sure it is caught with and in a way.
And remember to look for sustainable ocean based tourism destinations that support and restoration projects, and experiences that for your next seagoing adventure.

Grasslands National Park in southern Saskatchewan protects one of the finest parcels of North American mixed grass prairie habitat in existence. We’re posting this video of Plains Bison 🦬 who were absent from this landscape for over 120 years and are now thriving in the Park, in recognition of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration which launched on June 5th on
The Park is doing excellent restoration work on this fragile ecosystem and there are many natural wonders to be appreciated during a visit.
When we visited we stayed which adjoins the Park and we highly recommend.

Our friends shared the sad 😢 news of the collapse of the iconic Darwin’s Arch.
It was their reminder that “nothing lasts forever and the time is NOW” and to “go to the places and meet the people you want to meet” that touched our 💙💙💙.
Time to start turning our dreams into plans to once again
Why not make the Galapagos your first big adventure? The people and conservation efforts have suffered greatly without the economic support from tourism. Your investment in a trip to this magical place would be a wonderful life-changing experience for you and really help the local community. As a local operator, can make that happen.

We encourage everyone that travels to these special places to consider themselves stewards for their preservation and to engage responsibly with the creatures whose spaces they are sharing. We offer a guide to safe, respectful and beyond-your-wildest-dreams encounters with grizzly bears and other incredible wild wonders in the Canadian Rockies in our online magazine. See link in bio.

This is a rare white grizzly bear. No it is not a polar bear nor a Kermode Spirit Bear.

In the spirit of Easter and in honour of the traditional Semana Santa celebrations of Antigua, Guatemala we share this story:

Antigua's Alfombras, Magic Carpets Coloured by Culture and Community | Guatemala Antigua's Alfombras. Colourful temporary carpets fill the cobblestoned street of the Guatemalan city during Semana Santa (Easter) each year. Patterns handed down through generations and created in a cultural tradition that brings families together.

Antigua’s Alfombras. Colourful temporary carpets fill the cobblestone streets of this Guatemalan city during Semana Santa (Easter) each year. Intricate patterns handed down through generations and created in a mix of religious and local cultural tradition that brings families and communities together in heartfelt celebration.
Unfortunately, this year the artistry and tradition of Holy Week in Antigua was cancelled. We have published a tribute to all the beautiful alfombras that have been created in the past and in recognition of the families that will carry the tradition into the future: Link in Bio to “Magic Carpets Coloured by Culture and Community.
