Hi friends! Hope you all are well 💖 We haven’t posted in a while as we have been busy with our startup ~ 🐕
Amidst the work chaos, this Friday morning I choose to feel grateful and blessed watching Miss Olive curiously checking out humans on the street 🙊 Ollie also enjoys listening to birds chirping ever since she was a pup. Its a treat to watch 🤩

Thank you for saving Little Shy Tiger’s life 🩵
Tiger must be four-months old and somehow found his way to kind humans at a किराना पसल in 📍Tahachal. We arranged for his two doses 💉of parvo, rabies, corona, and distemper vaccinations because non-vaccinated pups, especially homeless ones, are so vulnerable to terrible diseases 🤢
Now that Tiger is vaccinated, it will keep him healthy and happy far in the future!
Thank you all for purchasing goodies 🎁 A portion of their sales was donated towards Tiger’s life-saving vaccination! Thank you for saving little Tiger’s precious life 🧡🌈

For the last few months, I have been working on a project very close to my heart- Śvāna Maya 💜 It is an online store (for now on Instagram & Facebook) selling affordable and quality goodies for DOGS - our treasured family, siblings, and best friends, who deserve the world ✨🌙 Svana Maya is also a reflection of the way I think of dogs 🐕🥰
I enjoyed shopping for my adopted dogs back in the US, and the dogs' products aisle would be my first stop at Target, or which ever stores I went to 🙈 After moving back to Nepal, I especially missed shopping for good quality dog supplies. So here I am, thrilled, happy, and grateful to be launching 🚀 Śvāna Maya on Facebook and Instagram tomorrow. I hope our thoughtful, handpicked products will bring joy and happiness to your dog/s! The prices are kept affordable so that pet parents from all walks of life can pamper their dogs too. A portion of the purchase will help our local street dogs in need. Happy shopping! 🛍️🛒

Recently, I started adding a tiny bit of lemon juice 🍋💦💦 (1/3 a teaspoon) to my dogs’ diet - a few days a week only. My dogs are not fussy eaters 🙈 so they don’t mind the tartness of the lemon with their dal, bhat, masu, and tarkari lunch meals 🍛
Many websites out there say lemon juice is toxic, but if it’s fed in a small amount, lemons are safe for your dogs. So, the serving size matters.
Below are the reasons why I added them to my dogs’ meal and a few pointers we need to be aware of:
🍋 Lemons are naturally high in Vitamin C and potassium, which may promote the dog's immune system, wound healing, and proper functioning of muscles and nerves.
💦 Make sure to wash the fruit thoroughly before using it, as they most lemons sold these days are sprayed with pesticide.
❌ However, never feed your pet the peels, seeds, leaves, stems or other plant parts.
So, lemon and lemon juice are entirely safe for your dogs to consume in small amounts. Although, dogs may not like it because of its sourness 🤪
However, consuming too much citric acid can upset your dogs’ stomach, so the serving size matters!
Disclaimer: I am not a vet or a medical expert on dog diets. However, the information I share on this page is based on my 8+ years of experience taking care of my adopted dogs 🐕🩵 at home and via reading academic journals and books.

Lao Tzu said, “when we let go of what we are, we become what we might be.” Can we ‘let go’ of the ‘negative mindset 🤯’ that we grew up with about dogs that live on the street, in our gullies, that they are dangerous and filthy 😔 For they are NOT monsters but gentle, harmless creatures who seek love from us (more than food, sometimes). Letting go of this negative stereotype might make us, our generation and the generation next more kinder and more empathetic towards thousands of dogs that live around us. Shall we try to let go of the myths, and perhaps then we might just become what we might be— more compassionate? ❤️🩹

If the idea of getting home a dog is - to make him / her GUARD your house, leave him unattended, and not even let him enter your house, please don’t get a dog. Dogs are social animals, they love spending time with humans. They are family, aren’t they?
If you cant treat them right, rather dont bring them home. We have no right to mess up some one else’s life.
In the photo: Barfi, the dog who isn’t allowed to step inside the family’s house. He is made to stay in the compound 24/7, rain, sun or cold. Barfi is often punished (locked up in a small cage or tied to a short chain for hours) in case he gets out of the gate kept open by the humans of the same family.
