With folded hands and deep reverence, we would like to share that the monks and nuns of the Thrangu monasteries will once again observe Losar in a solemn and prayerful manner this year.

Since the parinirvana of our precious Root Guru, Kyabje Thrangu Rinpoche, we made the heartfelt decision to refrain from festive celebrations for three years as an offering of devotion and remembrance. This year marks the third year of that sacred commitment.

Therefore, during Losar, the Tibetan New Year, there will be no festive gatherings, cultural programs, or celebratory events in any of our monasteries and institutions under the spiritual guidance of our revered Guru.

However, the flame of Dharma continues to shine brightly. The monks and nuns will dedicate themselves to prayers, pujas, and virtuous activities, accumulating merit and offering aspirations for the swift return of our Guru’s enlightened activity, for the flourishing of the Buddhadharma, and for the peace and well-being of all sentient beings.

In this sacred time of reflection, we humbly request everyone to join us in maintaining a spirit of mindfulness, devotion, and compassion.

May the blessings of the lineage ever guide us.

हात जोडेर गहिरो श्रद्धाका साथ हामी यो जानकारी साझा गर्न चाहन्छौं कि थ्राङ्गु गुम्बाहरूका भिक्षु तथा भिक्षुणीहरूले यस वर्ष पनि लोसारलाई साधनापूर्ण रूपमा मनाउनेछन्।

हाम्रा परमपूज्य मूल गुरु क्याबजे थ्रांगू रिनपोछे को महापरिनिर्वाण पश्चात्, उहाँप्रति श्रद्धाञ्जलीस्वरूप हामीले तीन वर्षसम्म कुनै पनि उत्सव नमनाउने निर्णय गरेका थियौं। यस वर्ष त्यो पवित्र संकल्पको तेस्रो वर्ष हो।

त्यसैले लोसर को अवसरमा हाम्रा गुरुज्यूको आध्यात्मिक मार्गदर्शनमा सञ्चालित सबै गुम्बा तथा संस्थाहरूमा कुनै पनि सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम वा उत्सव आयोजना गरिने छैन।

यद्यपि, धर्मको ज्योति निरन्तर प्रज्वलित रहनेछ। भिक्षु तथा भिक्षुणीहरूले विशेष पूजा, प्रार्थना तथा पुण्यकर्महरू मार्फत गुरुज्यूको शीघ्र पुनर्जन्म तथा उहाँको पावन धर्मकार्य पुनः प्रकट होस् भनी कामना गर्नेछन्। साथै समस्त प्राणीहरूको शान्ति, सुख र कल्याणका लागि पनि समर्पित प्रार्थना गरिनेछ।

यस पवित्र समयावधिमा हामी सबैलाई श्रद्धा, स्मरण र करुणाको भावमा सहभागी हुन हार्दिक अनुरोध गर्दछौं।

गुरु परम्पराको आशीर्वाद सधैं हामीमाथि रहिरहोस्।

One of the very few known photographs of our most precious and dearly missed Kyabje Rinpoche in the holy presence of His Holiness the 16th Gyalwang Karmapa, the supreme holder of the Kagyu lineage.

To behold this image is to receive blessings and to remember the inseparable bond between guru and disciple, compassion and wisdom. Such moments are beyond words and immeasurably rare.
