🦖 A Norwegian dinosaur success story
THE DINOSAUR BUNCH (Dinosaurgjengen) by Lars Mæhle & Lars Rudebjer just keeps on travelling:
With 1.6 million copies sold internationally and another 400,000 copies printed in Norway, the series has become a remarkable long-running success.
What makes us especially happy is not only the numbers, but the reach: these Norwegian dinosaurs have found young readers in markets ranging from China and Taiwan to Indonesia and Mongolia, alongside many European countries.
And the adventure is still growing. After 19 books in THE DINOSAUR BUNCH and 9 books in THE LITTLE DINOSAUR BUNCH, sales remain remarkably strong and are even showing growth in some markets.
Next autumn, the Dinosaur Bunch universe will expand again, with Ravensburger puzzles and board games!
🥚 Pictured here: THE EGG / EGGET, the first adventure in the series and its Chinese edition, translated by Aprildayjingjing Li.
Congratulations to Lars Mæhle and Lars Rudebjer, and to Eirin Hagen Literary Agency all the publishers who have helped these dinosaurs travel so far! 🦕🌏

Norwegian Literature Travels 🌏!
Today, Per Pettersons new novel You Are Home Now (Du er hjemme nå) arrives in German as Nach Hause kommen, published by Hanser and translated by Ina Kronenberger.
A subtle novel about the complicated question of where (and with whom) we are really at home.
Germany follows Denmark, where the novel appeared this summer as Du er hjemme nu, translated by Lotte Kirkeby – and was met with an extraordinary reception:
“An aesthetic and existential masterpiece by one of Norway’s greatest writers.”
— Kristeligt Dagblad
“A new Petterson classic is born.”
— Kulturen.nu
And the journey has only just begun: rights have already been sold in nine countries – Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey.
Congratulations to Per Petterson, his translators and publishers! We can’t wait to see where the book travels next.

Norwegian Literature Travels! 🌏
The Three Billy Goats Gruff 🐐🐐🐐make a splash in Italy 💦🇮🇹!
Bjørn F. Rørvik’s beloved “Bukkene Bruse på badeland” (The three Billy Goats Gruff at the Water Park) brilliantly illustrated by Gry Moursund, has travelled to Italy as “I tre capretti furbetti al parco acquatico”, published by Camelozamoa, translated by Maria Valeria D’Avino and has been warmly welcomed by the Italian press!
📰 Andersen called it “engaging and perfect for reading aloud,” while Tuttolibri – La Stampa celebrated its “rollicking plot with a taste for nonsense.”
And Letteratura e Cinema summed it up like this:
“This book isn’t looking for elegance; it’s looking for fun. And it finds it.”
Bjørn F. Rørvik was also in Bologna this spring, when Norway was Guest of Honour at the Bologna Children's Book Fair: a perfect setting to celebrate Norwegian children’s literature travelling into new languages and finding new readers.
Wishing you many more happy travels 🐐🐐🐐!

Sweden is celebrating Kersti Anfinnsen!
Kjersti Anfinnsen’s Dødsverk (Deathwork) is receiving an extraordinary wave of praise from Swedish critics. The novel is the third and final volume in her acclaimed trilogy about retired heart surgeon Birgitte Solheim: a sharp, darkly funny and deeply moving portrait of old age, dignity and approaching death.
Published in Sweden by Flo förlag and translated into Swedish by poet and translator Marie Lundquist, the trilogy has been widely celebrated for Anfinnsen’s unsentimental voice, black humour and remarkable ability to condense an entire life into just a few pages.
The critics say it best:
✨ “One of the strangest and most impressive literary works I have encountered in recent years.”
— Björn Kohlström, Bernur
✨ “With a poetically balanced iceberg technique, Anfinnsen condenses an entire life.”
— Lejla Cato, Expressen
✨ “I am impressed by Anfinnsen’s strong loyalty to Birgitte’s laconic inner voice.”
— Kristina Sandberg, Dagens Nyheter
A huge congratulations to Kjersti Anfinnsen and to Marie Lundquist, whose translation is itself praised by Dagens Nyheter as “crystal-clear”.
