CFC Racing
CFC Racing started as a small joke in our VW garage at Fornebu in Oslo, Norway.
We made a set of singleport intakes for an engine, and because of our fondness for air-cooled Cal-look styled cars, Cali-Fornebu Customs was born!
Haven’t even been to the garage since October! Lame battery, but oil pressure almost instantly!
Will it race this year?

Not much time to spend on the car this fall and winter. Currently renovating our new place, that steals all free time 😅
Internal demolition and in-ground plumbing is almost done, so in late January I hope to start rebuilding!
In-family pre-approval for picture 4 did not go through. A bit shocked actually 😂
Crossing my fingers that I get do do some changes on the car before summer 🤞🤞

The lost RPMs are back 🥰
Need a new lambda sensor. Took of 0,5bar/8psi of fuel pressure and 25% fuel in the map. Revs a bit higher now. Time for some winter upgrades and a good dyno tune when spring arrives 🙏

That’s it for this years SCC 🙄
Car won’t rev over 5700-5900. Nothing in the ECU that “should” keep it from not go higher.
Even spoke to Alex at DTA that confirmed that there isn’t anything in the map that should keep it down.
We suspect valve float. Maybe CB650s isn’t enough with 44mm valves and 2,3bar / 34psi boost.
A bit gutted and tired 😅😅

Think this is my first year with a built engine where there is an oil drip from the actual engine block sealing surface. Maybe 10 drops per day.
Can’t fix it without a tear down, so won’t happen before SCC...JUST NORTH OF INSANITY!.
Other than that I think I’m ready 🏎️🌪️

Some parts arrived 💪
Long time project 2529cc has left the starting block.
Just to add a bit of ease to the discussion regarding parts and specs.
The current plan is as follows:
- 2,1 DJ WBX case, WBX head stud placement, but case savers and 10mm head studs
- 76,4mm WBX crank or 78mm flanged China-crank (leaning towards WBX-crank)
- 5,5 or 5,6" Pauter rods
- 101,6mm (4") AA-cylinders and JE pistons
- JPM MS250 heads (with bigger chambers) or Autocraft 910 heads.
- Cam after Skinne's suggestion
The rest of the induction part and turbo size is unknown at this stage..
50% horsepower increase is the goal. 501whp * 1,5 = 751,5whp :)

We’ll try a air/water-cooled combination on the next engine 😆
I’ll lob the other water jacket off next time in the garage.
Specs are up for debate. Any ideas?

New Thorsten Pieper dual taper aluminium push rods and a bit tighter shims on a few rockers today.
Need to order a comprehensive set of 17,50mm ID shims. Anyone have a source?
