Pink Kitty

Finally made it to Hever Castle. Sadly we'd picked a day with a "Super Car Convention" and hoards of fans of such events with their giant badly behaved dogs. Not impressed so we quickly saw the castle and beat a swift retreat. The Astor Family had "restored" it so it was more theme park than Tudor but it's another thing off the bucket list. Here are some careful photos not showing the hoards!

Quick trip to Canterbury for a short boat trip and then walk round the Cathedral. I was quite impressed with all the Plantagenet history, especially seeing the tomb of The Black Prince. Less impressed by the havoc done by Henry VIII, especially destruction of Becket's shrine which is now marked by a simple candle.

Van Gogh Museum, absolute heaven! Turned up and they have a temporary exhibition of nearly all the paintings he did in his last 60 days on this planet. How anyone with such awesome genius could chose to check out is beyond me. Totally overwhelming.
