B2Space participated in the Innovative Propulsion Cross Cutting Initiative (IP-CCI) workshop, hosted by last week in Amsterdam.

We are proud to share that our co-founder, Victor, was invited to present in the category of Advanced High Altitude Platform Systems (aHAPS), sharing insights and advancements in HAPS.

The opportunity allowed us to contribute to the future of space exploration, aligning with user programs and industry needs.

B2Space had scheduled a launch last week from the Canary Islands, which unfortunately did not go ahead due to the weather conditions. The teams and systems were ready, but unfortunately the wind was too strong in the operational area and therefore the launch was aborted. We are already working on opening a new launch window!!

3... 2… 1… IGNITION!

B2Space is one step closer to reach orbit… the past week the team accomplished an important milestone launching a 5,5 kNs total impulse rocket from our launch tube.

This critical ground test demonstrated different systems that will
be flying in our Rockoon (Balloon + Rocket), such as the ignition control and safety systems, the launch tube and the Satellite Telecommand System. Additionally, the rocket worked as expected

The test was performed in a controlled area where the launch of the rocket occurred inside a bunker, ensuring extra-safety measures in case any deviation of the system, however as it could be observed in the video, the rocket went straight to its objective.
When you check the video, tell us if you could see the “Mach Diamonds” at the exhaust of the rocket!

Next steps would be the performance of an open launch from the whole launch platform, hanging from a crane, in the same way it will be hanging from the balloon in the stratosphere, thus demonstrating the complete pointing and stabilization system.

After that B2Space would be ready to perform the first Rockoon launch demonstrating the whole Rockoon system.
