Wikkelhouse
Wikkelhouse. A special little house. Made out of cardboard. Sustainably built to last, suits all your needs.
Are you still in doubt? Maybe we can help you. If you order in June, your very own costumized Wikkelhouse can sit in your garden before the end of the year. And until July 1st, the current prices are still yours to grab. Just saying đ

Meet the team: Lara // Production Chef, the technical backbone of Wikkelhouse
Weâve developed our own code language. Every segment has its own code. WSLCR1PH means a closed middle segment with a round window on the right. And when I spot a CNC part marked M10A, I know instantly: that goes right there in the bathroom ceiling đ
I studied product design at the HvA and during my internship at Wikkelhouse I designed a bed that fits perfectly into the curves of the floor and walls. On top of that, it had to look beautiful, offer storage, use as little material as possible, be easy to transport and simple to assemble. We pulled it off and weâre still making it!
Seven years later, my role covers everything: from technical drawings to implementing innovations to overseeing the entire CNC side and everything in between. I also work on the floor in the workshop and on-site sometimes, because I believe that as a technical engineer you need to know how something actually gets built. Those are two very different things: whether something fits together on a screen versus whether it fits together in the workshop.
I donât really see Wikkelhouse as a house. I see it as a product. The level of attention and precision that goes into every detail is genuinely unlike anything youâd expect from a house. Every single screw gets thought about: is it even necessary? If so, where does it go, visible or not? Every step in the production process gets questioned.
The best part of my job is that we do it all together. From start to finish, every single step is special.
We prefer to make everything ourselves. Even when we could source it from a manufacturer, we want that extra little notch in the rubber, or exactly that curve in the wood. So we build a machine or a mould to do it ourselves. Thatâs the charm of this company. Itâs what makes Wikkelhouse so distinctly its own. We donât look at whatâs on the market; we start from our own idea of whatâs smart, beautiful or sustainable and then figure out how to make it happen.
I would absolutely love to live in a Wikkelhouse one day. At the Kortenhoefse Plassen. Yes.. thatâs my dream.
Our monthly open house is coming up again this Friday. Have a look & feel in our Wikkelhouse Twins and take the tour through our workshop. Dorus is ready for all your questions with coffee & tea and the poppies are at their best. Book your spot via link in bio. Hope to see you!

This is your doorway to a Wikkelhouse mansion: the tunnel! Why limit yourself to a single tiny Wikkelhouse, think beyond your dreams! â¨â¨â¨

A flashback to our crazy Taiwan adventure of 2024⌠Who could have thought that our little house would sail across the ocean to stay in Taipei, Taiwan for 100th anniversary of Yuen Foong Yu, an Taiwanese paper company.
Good memories.
