The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has nominated Alhaja Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa-Balogun, a chartered accountant and daughter of Rite Foods founder Alhaji Sulaiman Adegunwa, as its deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 elections.

Her emergence comes two months after the party endorsed Senator Solomon Adeola as its governorship flagbearer. Announcing the decision at the APC Strategic Caucus Meeting in Abeokuta, Governor Dapo Abiodun said the selection followed careful consideration and reflected the party’s commitment to inclusiveness and consensus-building.

Adeola revealed that Adegunwa-Balogun was chosen from among 17 qualified female contenders and praised Abiodun’s leadership in ensuring a smooth, rancour-free process. In her acceptance speech, Adegunwa-Balogun pledged loyalty to the party and promised to work closely with Adeola to advance Ogun State’s development agenda.

🚨😱 TEENAGERS ON A KILLING MISSION! Two Boys Under 20 Busted With Live Ammunition In Asaba β€” They Were Already On Their Way To An "Operation"
They should be in school. Instead, they were headed to commit a crime β€” until security operatives stopped them cold.
A chilling video circulating on social media, shared by Arise News/Moonlite Television, has sent shockwaves through Asaba and the entire South-South region. Two young men, both under the age of 20, were intercepted and arrested in Asaba, Delta State, while reportedly en route to carry out what sources describe as a planned criminal "operation."
What made the arrest even more disturbing? The suspects were found in possession of live ammunition β€” not toys, not replicas. Real bullets. And they didn't look remotely remorseful.
πŸ“Έ WHAT THE VIDEO SHOWS
The footage, now spreading rapidly across Nigerian social media, shows one of the suspects β€” a young man in a red and black striped top β€” seated in what appears to be a security vehicle, hands in handcuffs, with a firearm magazine being displayed directly to the camera.
His expression? Chillingly calm. No tears. No fear. Just the cold stare of someone who has clearly been around this world for too long.
Both suspects reportedly have pierced ears β€” a detail that witnesses and online commenters are noting as consistent with profiles of local cult members and street gang affiliates operating across Delta State.
πŸ”΄ CAUGHT RED-HANDED β€” AND ON THEIR WAY TO DO DAMAGE
According to the Arise News report, the two boys were intercepted before they could reach their target. They were not caught after the fact. They were stopped mid-mission β€” which means somewhere in Asaba tonight, there are people who do not know how close they came to becoming victims.
This is exactly the kind of timely security intervention that rarely gets enough credit. Because when it works β€” nobody dies, and the story barely makes the news.
😀 THE BIGGER PICTURE DELTA STATE CANNOT IGNORE
This arrest did not happen in a vacuum. Delta State β€” and Asaba in particular β€” has been battling a rising tide of youth-driven violent crime. Cultism, armed robbery, kidnapping-for-ransom, and targeted killings have plagued communities across Oshimili South and surrounding LGAs.
What is truly alarming about this case is the age profile of the suspects. Under 20. Still teenagers. Already carrying live rounds and moving toward a planned attack.
The questions that demand answers are uncomfortable ones:
Who recruited them? Who armed them? Who sent them on this "operation"? And how many more like them are already out there, right now, waiting for their own assignment?
βš–οΈ WHERE IS THE STATE GOVERNMENT?
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the Delta State security apparatus must reckon with what this arrest reveals β€” that violent criminal networks are actively recruiting children in the state capital. Asaba is not a remote village. It is the seat of government of Delta State.
If teenagers can be intercepted with live ammunition in broad daylight in Asaba, the security situation demands more than press statements. It demands sustained, intelligence-driven operations that don't just catch the foot soldiers but dismantle the commanders who send them.
πŸ—£οΈ NIGERIANS ARE REACTING β€” AND THEY'RE ANGRY
Social media has erupted since the video dropped. Many Nigerians are asking the hard question: what kind of future is being stolen from these boys β€” and by whom?
Because the truth is, no child wakes up one morning and decides to carry bullets. Someone put those bullets in their hands. Someone told them this was the life. And that someone is still out there, free, already recruiting the next batch.
Drop your thoughts in the comments. Who do you blame more β€” the boys, their handlers, or the system that failed them? And share this story β€” because Asaba deserves to know what is happening on its streets. πŸ”₯πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬
