Successful Maritime Career Webinar (ETO Track) β
Our webinar was a great success, featuring an in-depth presentation by ETO Olamide on the role and responsibilities of an Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) in the maritime industry. The session explored shipboard power generation and distribution, automation and control systems, navigation and communication equipment, as well as electrical safety practices onboard vessels.
He also clarified the differences between ETO and ETI certifications, outlined career pathways and licensing requirements, and highlighted the importance of continuous professional development through training and mentorship. Practical insights into maintenance routines, fault diagnosis, PLCs, and ship automation systems were shared, giving participants real-world technical exposure.
The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where attendees asked questions on technical challenges, career opportunities, and pathways into the ETO profession.
