APC Concludes Kwara Guber Primary as Yakubu Danladi Soliu Emerges Winner

All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Kwara State has officially been concluded on Friday, May 22, 2026, amid heavy security presence and widespread protests by party members across the 16 local government areas of the state.

The exercise, which attracted significant political tension and intense interest among party loyalists, was supervised by a committee led by Senator Musiliu Obanikoro.

Announcing the final results after collation, the committee declared Yakubu Danladi Soliu as the winner of the APC gubernatorial primary election after polling 94,000 votes.

According to the results announced by the committee, Yahya Seriki scored 41,700 votes to emerge second, while Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa polled 22,118 votes.

The primary election was reportedly characterized by tight security monitoring following complaints and protests from aggrieved party members in several parts of the state over the conduct of the exercise.

With the outcome of the primary, Yakubu Danladi Soliu is now positioned to fly the APC flag in the forthcoming governorship election in Kwara State.
