Here's a simple recipe for a delicious omelette:
*Classic 2-Egg Omelette*
Ingredients:
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon butter or oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional fillings (choose one or more):
- Chopped vegetables (bell peppers, onions, mushrooms)
- Shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella)
- Cooked meats (bacon, ham)
- Fresh herbs (parsley, chives)
Instructions:
1. Crack the eggs into a bowl and whisk them together with a pinch of salt and pepper until the whites and yolks are fully incorporated.
2. Heat a small non-stick pan over medium heat and add the butter or oil.
3. Once melted, pour in the egg mixture.
4. Let the eggs cook for about 2-3 minutes until the edges start to set.
5. Add your chosen fillings to one half of the omelette.
6. Use a spatula to gently fold the other half over the fillings.
7. Cook for another minute, until the cheese is melted (if using) and the eggs are almost set.
8. Slide the omelette out of the pan onto a plate and serve hot.
*Tips:*
- Use room temperature eggs for easier whisking.
- Don't overfill the omelette.
- Don't overcook; the eggs should be moist and creamy.
