A PRAYER FOR WEEK 22

“Indeed I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass. I have purposed it; I will also do it.”(Isaiah 46:11)

“For this reason we do not cease to pray for you, and ask that. . . ”
(Colossians 1:9-14)

The Roses pray for you and your loved ones, that: every good word God has spoken to you will come to pass speedily; God may give you spiritual wisdom, knowledge of His will and understanding;
your lives and work will produce good fruits which honour God;
you will be strengthened with all His glorious power and with the endurance and patience that you need; you may always be filled with joy and thanksgiving. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

ACTION: Glorify God in word and action. Jesus is the glory of God!

“So it came to pass, when the king saw Queen Esther standing in the court, that she found favour in his sight, and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand.” (Esther 5:2)

“For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favour You will surround him as with a shield” (Psalm 5:12)

ACTION: When tough, even life-threatening challenges arise, as in Esther's time, let us fast and pray as we live in righteousness. Then let us take action as directed by the Holy Spirit, confident that the favour of God will make us overcome.

PRAYER: Almighty God our Father, thank You for blessing us and clothing us with the righteousness of Christ. Please give us boldness and always surround us with favour as a shield according to your word, in Jesus name, Amen. The Lord Jesus is my banner!

“Now it came to pass, on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king's house, over against the king's house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house...”. (Esther 5:1)

“I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; My justice was like a robe and a turban.” (Job 29:14)

ACTION: Like Esther, let us put on righteousness and justice as a garment, so we can walk with boldness and praise into the courts of Almighty God. Job describes the righteous clothing as: deliver the poor, the fatherless, the widow and the one who has no helper, the blind, lame and victims of wickedness.

PRAYER: Father God, thank You for the sacrifice of Jesus as our clothing of salvation. Please grant us grace for the consistent practice of righteousness and justice as a robe, in Jesus name, Amen. Jesus is our sanctifier!

“And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we returned all of us to the wall, every one unto his work.”(Nehemiah 4:15)

“Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm. .... But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me”. (2 Timothy 4:14, 17)

ACTION: Do not be discouraged with opposition. Prepare for it; expect it. Encourage yourself with God's promises! Find one promise for each day/situation.

PRAYER: Our Father and our God, thank You for Your promises that never fail. Please Lord, bring all the plans of our enemies to nothing. Grant us the grace to stand on your unfailing Word and preach the Gospel, irrespective of the challenges, in Jesus name, Amen. Jesus is our Rock!

“And when He saw them (ten l***rs), He said unto them, ’Go, show yourselves unto the priests.’ And it came to pass that as they went, they were cleansed”. (Luke 17:14)

“So he (Naaman the l***r) went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.”(2 Kings 5:14)

ACTION: Obey God even when you don't understand. When we have a headache we swallow analgesic pills without understanding how it works. Similarly, when hurt, we should swallow God's pill of forgiveness; when wrong desires come, we should swallow the pill of God's holiness; when sick, we should swallow God's Word; etc, etc.

PRAYER: Thank You, Lord, for You are our Solution-giver and Healer. Please grant us the grace to always obey you, even when it sounds foolish to our limited minds; in Jesus name, Amen. Jesus is our Solution!

“It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle”. (2 Chronicles 20:1)

“The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before your face; they shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways” (Deuteronomy 28:7)

ACTION: When there is a gathering or attack against you, do what Jehoshaphat did: Pray, Fast, Listen, hear and obey completely. Actually, these should be our way of life and not just for when there are challenges. The weapon of warfare may be Praise, as it was with Jehoshaphat.

PRAYER: Dear God our Father, Mighty Man in battle, Lion of the tribe of Judah, we thank You for fighting our battles. We depend on You alone. Guide and order our footsteps, as our world is a battle field. In Jesus name we pray, Amen. The battle is the Lord's.

“Now it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom and had strengthened himself, that he forsook the law of the Lord, and all Israel along with him”. (2 Chronicles 12:1)

“But watch out! Be careful never to forget what you yourself have seen. Do not let these memories escape from your mind as long as you live! And be sure to pass them on to your children and grandchildren.”(Deuteronomy 4:9 NLT)

ACTION: Write down your testimonies of God's goodness. Use your successes to show God’s love but do not allow them to derail you. Make intentional efforts to teach and impress the truth of the Gospel into the minds and hearts of your children and household so they cannot be forgotten or forsaken.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for your blessings. May we never forsake You as a result of the comforts and blessings of life. May we make your truth known to our generations in Jesus name, Amen. Jesus is our greatest Teacher!

A PRAYER FOR WEEK 21

“Now it came to pass.... that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Judah, Elimelech, his wife Naomi and two sons, went to dwell in the country of Moab,...Then he died... the sons took wives...Orpah and Ruth... Then...her sons also died.” (Ruth 1:1-5)

“The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ.. … Boaz begot Obed by Ruth” (Matthew 1:1-5)
The Roses pray for you and your loved ones that:
you may always ask and follow God's direction and not run away from difficult situations as Elimelech did, running from frying pan to fire;
God will give you faithful and diligent family members like Ruth; God will use your positive and negative circumstances to accomplish His purpose as He used Ruth,who brought joy to Naomi and ended up in the genealogy of Jesus, in spite of the death of her husband and sons.

ACTION: Be willing to sacrifice for others. And it came to pass! Jesus is the Lamb of God, worthy to open the seal!

“And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, that I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy; Your young men shall see visions; Your old men shall dream dreams.” (Acts 2:17)

“For we are labourers together with God:” (1 Corinthians 3:9)

ACTION: Learn, identify and use your spiritual gifts to win souls as you share the gospel of Jesus Christ to give others abundant life. In the same way, your physical and financial resources may be used to achieve the same.

PRAYER: Our Father God, thank you for the gifts of the Holy Spirit that you have poured upon us in these last days. Please grant us courage and grace to use them to build lives and harvest souls for the kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen. Jesus gives His all!

“So it came to pass, when they (the angels) had brought them (Lot and his family) outside, that he said, ‘Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed’.”(Genesis 19:17)

“Abstain from every form of evil”. (1 Thessalonians 5:22)

ACTION: We may not be able to avoid every kind of evil because we live in a sinful world. However, we can flee from appearances of evil by avoiding tempting situations and places, and by refusing to give evil a foothold in our lives. We can choose to focus on obeying God and controlling our desires. The consequences of disobedience are often destructive, but they may also be subtle and hidden. Lot's wife was destroyed for disobedience.

PRAYER: Our Father God, thank you for the Holy Spirit, our Helper. Please grant us grace to recognize sin, and in obedient response reject and flee from it, in Jesus name, Amen. And it came to pass! Jesus strengthens!

“Eleazer, Abraham's servant prayed: O Lord God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham...... and let it come to pass that...” (Genesis 24: 12–14)

“And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out”.(Genesis 24:15)

ACTION: Pray the Prayer, specifically asking for what is needed to fulfil Your God-given assignment, as Eleazer did. Pray in faith. Pray in expectation, looking out for the answer.

PRAYER: Our Father God, thank You that You answer our prayers. Holy Spirit, please guide us in our prayers, help us to pray the mind of God and give Him glory and honour, in Jesus name, Amen. And it came to pass! Jesus is the Answer!
