Human Rights Activist and National Legal Adviser for the Committee for the Defense of Human RightsHenry Ekine wants political actors in Rivers state to guard against their utterances ahead of the elections

Henry Ekine, in a chat with our correspondent, said such utterances could lead to a pre-election crisis in the state.

According to the Human Rights Activist, such comments by Governor Wike may elicit reactions from those who feel threatened.
Henry Ekine, National Legal Adviser Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, called on politicians to set a good example.

He said recent utterances by top politicians in the state should be avoided for the sake of the peace of residents in the state.

A human rights lawyer, Henry Ekine, says Governor Nyesom Wike’s recent statements are worrisome and could lead to pre-election violence.

Mr Ekine in an interview with our correspondent said the governor has the responsibility to ensure peace in the state as most residents in the state are not into politics and insecurity of any kind may affect their lives.

Mr Ekine also called on politicians to guide their utterances as they go into the 2023 elections.
