Today is World Water Day!!

Our project, The1kinitiative, in association with Ripples Touch, England as well as friends and volunteers of Better Future Initiative made the first ever edition of Uyo Street Children's Party 2021 possible.
We were amazed at the outpouring of love this Christmas day. Some of our volunteers came with their family and joined the street children to share a meal, a drink and some fun and laughs. One of the children ran to me, gave me a very big hug and said, THANK YOU!! You can see how warm that felt. Another young girl brought the house she constructed to show me. Wow!!
What more can we say but THANK YOU for all your support and for making this possible!!
We hope to follow up with some of these street children to see how we can work with them to have a ''Better Future''.
Here is the rest of the story in pictures....

Capacity building is a continuous process. I'm constantly learning afresh. I had the opportunity to participate in the Advocacy and Capacity Strengthening on Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) and Child Early and Forced Marriage (CEFM) Training facilitated by Girl Power Initiative (GPI) and supported by USAID/PALLADIUM/SCALE.
