PDP RAISES ALARM OVER ONDO’S ‘FIRST EXCO MEETING,’ DESCRIBES GOVT AS SLOW AND REACTIVE
The Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State has carefully reviewed the recent pronouncements by the Aiyedatiwa administration following its Executive Council meeting, and we find it necessary to once again separate governance from what increasingly appears to be a ritual of empty declarations.
At the heart of our concern is the startling revelation that this is the first Executive Council meeting of the year. In a state confronted by economic strain, infrastructural decay and growing security threats, such a delayed convening of the highest decision making body of government is not just irregular, it is symptomatic of a deeper culture of inertia. A government that takes months to assemble itself for deliberation cannot convincingly claim urgency in addressing the pressing needs of its people. This abnormality better explains the slow, reactive and ultimately retrogressive governance trajectory Ondo State has been subjected to.
Let it be clearly stated that the PDP is not opposed to the construction of new hospitals. Expanding healthcare infrastructure is, in principle, a welcome development. However, it becomes a questionable priority when existing government hospitals across the state remain in poor condition, grossly understaffed and struggling with inadequate equipment. The logic of building new structures while old ones are left to deteriorate is difficult to defend. Healthcare delivery is not merely about erecting new buildings; it is about strengthening the entire system, from personnel to equipment to maintenance. Without this, new projects risk becoming mere monuments rather than functional institutions.
While the administration now speaks of approvals for hospital constructions, the people of Ondo expected far more proactive engagement on issues that are immediate and existential, particularly security. Communities across the state continue to grapple with fear, uncertainty and unresolved breaches, yet what is presented is a catalogue of approvals rather than a coherent, actionable security framework. Governance must be rooted in priorities, and at this critical moment, the safety of lives and property ought to command more than passing references in post meeting briefings.
Equally troubling is the complete absence of transparency in the details provided. Beyond the headline figure of “500 beds,” where are the cost implications, the budgetary allocations, the contractors, the timelines and the funding structure for these projects? Governance is not conducted in abstracts. The people deserve more than aggregated figures and vague projections. The continued refusal to provide verifiable data only reinforces a growing public perception that transparency and accountability have effectively been expunged from the operations of the Ondo State Government.
For a state that has repeatedly witnessed the cycle of announcements without commensurate delivery, skepticism is not only expected, it is justified. Ondo people are no longer persuaded by promises; they demand proof, process and performance.
The PDP therefore urges the Aiyedatiwa administration to abandon this culture of delayed governance and opaque communication. What the state needs at this time is urgency, clarity and measurable action, not another round of declarations that may ultimately dissolve into the familiar pattern of unfulfilled commitments.

ONDO PDP HOLDS SEC MEETING, DISMISSES ILLEGAL CONGRESS, REAFFIRMS LOYALTY TO TURAKI-LED NWC
The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has once again reaffirmed its unalloyed loyalty and total commitment to the Barr. Taminu Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC), while dismissing in strong terms the purported “new congress” being bandied about by a handful of misguided elements parading themselves outside the constitutional structure of the Party.
This position was made clear at the meeting of the State Executive Committee (SEC) of the Party held on Thursday at the Party's State Secretariat, Akure, the Ondo State capital.
In a statement issued by the Director of Media and Public Communications of the Ondo State PDP, Wándé T. Àjàyí, the State Chairman, Barr. Victor Modupe Aisida, made it abundantly clear that the so-called congress being promoted by some desperate individuals remains a nullity, a charade, and a political exercise in futility.
According to the State Chairman, the Peoples Democratic Party is a party guided by rules, due process, and constitutional order, and no valid congress can be conjured out of illegality, confusion, or personal ambition.
Barr. Aisida noted that those behind the sham exercise have once again demonstrated a poor understanding of the Party’s constitution, processes, and internal democratic mechanisms, stressing that you cannot build something on nothing.
He further emphasized that no legitimate State Congress can stand where there have been no valid Ward and Local Government Congresses, and no authentic delegate structure recognized by the lawful leadership of the Party.
The SEC meeting was attended by all Local Government Chairmen of the Party, members of the State Executive Council, and major stakeholders across the State, in a clear demonstration of the unity, strength, and legitimacy of the Ondo State PDP under the recognized Party leadership.
Among leaders present at the meeting were Dr. Eddy Olafeso, Member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) and former National Vice Chairman (South West), former State Chairman, Engr. Clement Faboyede, as well as Chief Tunde Akindehin and other prominent stakeholders of the Party.
Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Eddy Olafeso and Engr. Clement Faboyede reassured members that the PDP remains intact, united, and fully prepared for the future, stressing that the Party will be on the ballot and duly elected candidates will emerge under its platform.
Dr. Olafeso urged all Party faithful across the State to actively key into the ongoing PDP membership registration exercise, describing it as a vital step toward strengthening the Party’s base and repositioning it for the tasks ahead.
The leaders also encouraged all aspirants to remain steadfast and continue their grassroots consultations and mobilization, expressing confidence that the PDP remains the most viable political platform in Ondo State and that victory is not in doubt.
Dr. Olafeso further appreciated the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his steadfast leadership, courage, and consistency in providing direction for the Party at a critical time.
The Ondo State PDP therefore urges its members, supporters, and the general public to disregard the noise and distractions being orchestrated by those who have chosen the path of illegality and confusion.
The Party remains united, focused, and fully aligned with the recognized national leadership, and will not be distracted by the antics of political merchants seeking relevance through illegitimate means.

Governor Aiyedatiwa's Political Obsession and APC’s Congress of Chaos
The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Ondo State has followed, with restrained laughter and deep concern, the disgraceful spectacle that the All Progressives Congress APC has staged as its so called State Congress.
What was marketed as an exercise in internal democracy has degenerated into violence, factional bitterness, court injunctions and public embarrassment. Yet perhaps the most troubling aspect of this tragicomedy is not the disorder itself but the conductor of the orchestra, the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
At a time when communities across Ondo State are groaning under the weight of insecurity including kidnappings, violent crimes and the palpable fear in rural and urban areas alike, the Governor appears far more invested in consolidating party structures and settling intra party scores than in securing lives and property.
While citizens cry out for protection, the Governor is busy supervising political chess moves. While farmers worry about their safety, the ruling party worries about delegate lists. While families pray for peace, APC leaders fight over positions.
The irony is striking. The same government that has struggled to provide a convincing response to insecurity suddenly finds remarkable energy when it comes to organizing party congresses, even when those congresses descend into chaos and are reportedly halted by the Federal High Court in Akure. It would be amusing if it were not so tragic.
We ask whether the primary duty of the Governor is to protect the people of Ondo State or to protect his factional interests within the APC. Governance is not a side project. Security is not optional. Leadership is not a part time political enterprise.
The crisis within the APC today is not accidental. It is the predictable outcome of a leadership style that prioritizes political dominance over responsible governance. When a governor devotes more energy to internal party supremacy than to public safety, disorder becomes inevitable both within his party and within the state.
The PDP makes it clear that Ondo State deserves a Governor fully committed to confronting insecurity head on and not one distracted by congress theatrics and political brinkmanship.
If the Governor cannot bring order to his own party’s congress, how does he intend to bring order to a state battling serious security challenges?
The people of Ondo State are watching and they deserve better.

LEAKED SECURITY MEMO: AIYEDATIWA’S GOVERNMENT HAS FAILED TO PROTECT ONDO STATE - PDP
The Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State views with utmost concern the leaked security memo from the Department of State Services warning of a possible terrorist attack in parts of the State and the embarrassing attempt by the Aiyedatiwa-led government to trivialize such a grave security issue with a bland press statement.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration has, from inception, treated the vital issue of security with reckless indifference and shallow optics. Rather than building upon the robust security architecture he inherited, the governor has systematically starved the system of funding and morale. The once vibrant Amotekun Corps, a proud innovation that gave residents confidence in the protection of lives and property, has been reduced to a struggling outfit surviving on empty promises and token allowances. The officers who once stood tall as the first line of defense in our communities now battle poor welfare, inadequate logistics, and dwindling motivation because this government has chosen photo opportunities over purposeful leadership.
The Peoples Democratic Party finds it deeply disturbing that while intelligence reports warn of potential terrorist activities around border communities, the governor’s idea of security management is limited to flying around in private jets to attend events and making hollow pronouncements. The neglect of Amotekun’s welfare, coupled with the near withdrawal of operational funding, has left our security network vulnerable. Ondo State cannot afford a government that plays politics with public safety or treats credible security alerts as media inconveniences.
It is on record that previous administrations made deliberate efforts to strengthen interagency collaboration and supported Amotekun, since its creation, with operational vehicles, communication tools, and training. Today, under Governor Aiyedatiwa, that synergy has been eroded by neglect and lack of foresight. The welfare concerns of Amotekun officers must be addressed immediately, and the Corps should be properly integrated into the State Civil Service to ensure job security, improved funding, and consequent motivation to perform optimally. Anything short of this is a betrayal of the sacrifices made by these men and women who risk their lives daily to keep Ondo safe.
The Ondo State Peoples Democratic Party calls on the governor to stop governing by press statements and public relations stunts. What Ondo State needs is decisive leadership that prioritizes security above politics. Governor Aiyedatiwa must convene an urgent security summit, mobilize adequate resources, and rebuild confidence among the security agencies who have been demoralized by his government’s lack of seriousness. The people deserve more than words; they deserve action.
Ondo State was once a model of peace and vigilance in the Southwest. It is tragic that this legacy is being squandered under a governor who has replaced competence with complacency. We therefore urge all residents to remain vigilant and law-abiding while we hold this administration accountable for every lapse that endangers the safety of our people.

The Ondo State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has received with deep sorrow the news of the passing of Mama Keketobou Jane Kuku (née Gbamila), the beloved mother of our esteemed party leader and former Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, Hon. Barr. Kingsley Kuku.
Mama Kuku lived a long and impactful life marked by faith, compassion, and service to humanity. Her unwavering commitment to family values, community development, and the moral upbringing of her children remains an enduring legacy that will continue to inspire generations.
The Party commiserates with Barr. Kingsley Kuku and the entire Kuku family of Arogbo Kingdom over this irreparable loss. While her passing at the age of 90 is a reminder of a fulfilled and graceful life, we understand that the pain of losing a mother is deeply felt, no matter the age.
We urge the family to take solace in the knowledge that Mama Kuku’s life was one of virtue, faith, and love, a true example of a matriarch who nurtured leaders and touched many lives through her kindness and strength.
On behalf of the State Chairman, Barr. Dupe Aisida, the State Working Committee, leaders, and members of the Ondo PDP, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Barr. PRESS RELEASE
12TH OCTOBER, 2025
ONDO PDP DISMISSES FALSE CLAIMS, SAYS STATE CONGRESS REFLECTED PARTY UNITY
Our attention has been drawn to a mischievous press release issued by a self-styled group within our great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, under the name Kick Against Deceit. The statement, which purportedly condemned the just concluded PDP State Congress, is not only baseless and misleading but also a deliberate attempt to discredit one of the most transparent, participatory, and unifying exercises in the recent history of our Party in the State.
Contrary to the falsehoods peddled by the group, the State Congress was conducted in full compliance with the Constitution of our Party and the guidelines approved by the National Working Committee (NWC) as observed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Delegates were duly accredited, the process was peaceful, and the outcomes reflected the collective will of genuine party stakeholders across all local governments and senatorial districts.
It is important to clarify that many of the individuals whose names appeared as signatories to the said release have since publicly dissociated themselves from it. Specifically, Charles Adeduro, Caroline Olupitan, Pat Ojo, Dagbatan Anjorin Peter, among others, have categorically denied ever authorizing their inclusion or participation in the concocted statement. This further exposes the deceitful nature of the release and the desperation of those behind it to create a false impression of internal division where none exists.
The truth is simple and undeniable. The Ondo PDP has, for the first time in a long while, demonstrated unity of purpose and readiness to reclaim power through democratic engagement, internal cohesion, and transparent leadership recruitment. The State Congress was not only free and fair but was widely adjudged credible by observers, party elders, and the NWC representatives who supervised the process.
Those behind this baseless publication are well known as individuals who have consistently resisted every reform that seeks to reposition the Party for victory. Their discomfort stems not from the process itself but from the fact that the era of imposition, manipulation, and backroom politics is over. They now find themselves outside the circle of relevance created by merit and popular choice.
The PDP in Ondo State remains focused on rebuilding trust, strengthening grassroots structures, and presenting a united front ahead of the 2027 general elections. No amount of blackmail, sponsored propaganda, or internal sabotage will derail this collective resolve.
We therefore urge our teeming members and supporters across the 18 local government areas to disregard the said publication and remain steadfast in their commitment to the Party’s renewed vision under the leadership of the newly elected State Executive Committee.
The 2025 State Congress has come and gone, and history will record it as a turning point, the moment when the PDP in Ondo State rose above petty interests to chart a new course toward victory. Those who choose to remain prisoners of the past will only watch as the Party marches forward, stronger and more united than ever.
Signed:

Director of Media and Public Communication,
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),

: APC, AIYEDATIWA EXHIBITING SIGNS OF PANIC, DESPERATION AS DEFEAT IS IMMINENT
The attention of the AgboFessy Independent Media Group Organization has been drawn to the recent circulation of a baseless and settled allegations of forgery, exam malpractice, and perjury against the people's choice, Barr. Agboola Alfred Ajayi. These imaginations were thoroughly addressed in the past and have already been definitively laid to rest by the highest court in the land, the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
As stated in case file No. SC/CV/549/2021, Senator Nicholas Tofowomo, after the last senatorial primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), attempted to challenge Agboola Ajayi’s eligibility. However, the Supreme Court found the claims to be without merit, delivering a final judgment in favor of our candidate. This matter was conclusively settled by the highest court in the land, and any attempt to reopen the case at this stage is nothing more than a vivid political stunt and an attempt to distract the people of Ondo State from the real issues at hand.
It is clear that these renewed allegations are driven by nothing other than desperation, jitters and panic. As we approach the November 16th election, it is evident that the incumbent Party is rattled by the soaring support and trust the people of Ondo State have placed in the tested leadership qualities of Agboola Ajayi. The electorate is focused on securing a brighter future for Ondo State, free from the corruption, mismanagement and inefficiency that have characterized the current administration.
We urge the people of Ondo State to disregard these half-truths and smokescreens. The campaign of Agboola Ajayi and Festus Akingbaso is centered on good governance, accountability, and progress for the people of Ondo. The distractions from our opponents only serve to remind us that their defeat is imminent, and will shamelessly stop at nothing to try to undermine the will of the people.
The great people of Ondo State are resolute in their desire for change, and will not be hoodwinked by lies, propaganda, or childish political games. They are focused on issues that really matters to them, which are better healthcare, education, infrastructure, and job creation. We align with the people, and will continue to work assiduously to provide them the good leadership they truly deserve.
Signed:
AgboFessy Independent Media Group
