The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), under the leadership of the Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to discipline, accountability, and the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) with the sanctioning of 79 personnel found guilty of professional misconduct and the arrest of suspects involved in illegal arms dealing and vandalism.

The disciplinary measures, carried out in accordance with the Public Service Rules and the NSCDC Conditions of Service, demonstrate the Corps' zero-tolerance policy for corruption, misconduct, and acts capable of undermining national security and public confidence.

The Command also commends the operational successes recorded by the Corps in dismantling criminal networks involved in illegal fi****ms trafficking and the vandalism of railway and electrical infrastructure, reaffirming its resolve to safeguard lives, property, and strategic national assets across the country.

The NSCDC Niger State Command assures residents of the State of its continued commitment to professionalism, integrity, and effective service delivery. Members of the public are encouraged to remain vigilant and continue providing timely and credible intelligence to support ongoing efforts to combat crime and strengthen national security.

HOU AGRO RANGERS, DCC HARUNA DAVID ZAKI, ATTENDS STAKEHOLDERS’ ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMME AT THE ARDO'S PALACE MAITUMBI

The Head of Unit (HOU), Agro Rangers, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State Command, *DCC Haruna David Zaki,* attended a stakeholders’ engagement programme aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence and addressing issues affecting the relationship between farmers and herders.

During the programme, participants discussed the need for farmers, herders, community leaders and other relevant stakeholders to adopt peaceful and lawful means of resolving conflicts rather than taking the law into their own hands. They emphasized that grievances arising from farm destruction, livestock encroachment and other related issues should be promptly reported to the appropriate authorities for proper investigation and resolution.

The issue of allowing underage persons to herd large numbers of cattle was also raised. Participants expressed concern that young and inexperienced herders may find it difficult to effectively control large herds, thereby increasing the risk of cattle straying into farmlands and destroying crops. Stakeholders therefore called for responsible supervision and the engagement of competent and experienced herders to reduce incidents of farm destruction and prevent avoidable conflicts.

Similarly, concerns were raised over the practice of allowing women to engage in grazing activities, particularly in areas where such activities may result in cattle encroaching on farmlands. Participants stressed the importance of proper supervision, adherence to designated grazing routes and respect for farmlands and community boundaries.

The stakeholders also discussed the growing concern over the excessive consumption of illicit drugs by some young herders, noting that drug abuse could contribute to aggression, violence and other forms of misconduct. They called for increased sensitisation, parental guidance, community monitoring and collaboration with relevant security and law-enforcement agencies to address the menace.

In his remarks, DCC Haruna David Zaki emphasized the importance of dialogue, mutual understanding and respect for the law in maintaining peaceful coexistence between farmers and herders. He urged all parties to avoid acts of retaliation and violence, while encouraging them to promptly report cases of farm destruction, cattle encroachment and other disputes to the appropriate authorities.

He further reaffirmed the commitment of the NSCDC Agro Rangers Unit to promoting peace, protecting agricultural investments and supporting efforts aimed at preventing and resolving farmers-herders conflicts across Niger State.

The programme ended with a renewed commitment by participants to strengthen cooperation, promote responsible livestock management and sustain peaceful coexistence within their respective communities.

C.G NSCDC CHARGES PERSONNEL ON INTEGRITY, REAFFIRMS ZERO TOLERANCE FOR CORRUPTION AT ANTI-FRAUD INDUCTION PROGRAMME

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Anti-Fraud Unit has concluded a three-day national orientation and induction programme involving Anti-Fraud personnel drawn from the 36 State Commands and other formations across the country.

The programme, which commenced on Monday, 3rd August, 2026, and concluded on Wednesday, 5th August, 2026, was held at the NSCDC National Headquarters, Abuja. The event was chaired and officially declared open by the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR.

The occasion had in attendance representatives of relevant security and government agencies, including the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU), National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigerian Correctional Service, Federal Fire Service, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), among others.

The Niger State Command was represented at the programme by the Head of the Anti-Fraud Unit, DCC Abubakar Usman, alongside the Unit Administrator, ASC I Abeng Christiana Odong.

The orientation and induction programme was designed to enhance the capacity, operational efficiency and professionalism of Anti-Fraud personnel in the prevention, detection and investigation of fraud and other fraud-related activities within the Corps and the society at large.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Commandant General charged personnel to uphold integrity, transparency and accountability in the discharge of their duties, stressing that fraud and corruption remain major threats capable of undermining institutional credibility, eroding public trust and negatively affecting the image of the Corps.

Professor Audi reaffirmed the Corps’ zero tolerance for corruption and urged officers and men to remain committed to ethical conduct and professionalism while carrying out their statutory responsibilities.

The programme also featured an induction exercise conducted on Tuesday, 4th August, 2026, during which participants took an oath of commitment to reinforce their resolve to confront and combat fraud without fear, favour or sentiment.

The oath-taking exercise further strengthened the determination of the participants to uphold and sustain the integrity, transparency and accountability of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, while ensuring that their actions and conduct continue to promote public confidence in the organisation.

The programme also featured the launch of two books authored by the Head of the Anti-Fraud Unit, Commandant of Corps Emeribe Chinyere Victory, PhD, titled The Dark Side of Duty and The Anti-Fraud Lexicon.

The three-day programme came to a successful conclusion on Wednesday, 5th August, 2026, with appreciation extended to participants from the 36 State Commands and other formations for their commitment, diligence and contributions towards the success of the programme.

The Niger State Command remains committed to promoting integrity, accountability and professionalism in all its activities and will continue to support initiatives aimed at strengthening the capacity of its personnel in the fight against fraud and other related offences.

EBIRA WOMEN ASSOCIATION PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO COMMANDANT S.S. ANIVIYE AT THE STATE COMMAND

Earlier today, the State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State Command, Commandant Suberu Siyaka Aniviye, received members of the Ebira Women Association, Tungan Goro, Minna, on a courtesy visit to the State Command Headquarters.

Speaking on behalf of the association, the Chairlady, Mrs. Sadiq Rabiyat Ohunene, stated that the purpose of the visit was to formally identify with and welcome the State Commandant, as well as to strengthen the existing relationship, unity and cooperation between the Ebira Women Association and the NSCDC Niger State Command.

She commended the Commandant for his leadership and the efforts of the Corps in ensuring the protection of lives and property, maintaining peace, and promoting safety and security across the state. She also expressed the association’s willingness to support initiatives aimed at promoting peace, unity and harmonious coexistence within their communities.

In his response, the State Commandant, Comdt. Suberu Siyaka Aniviye, expressed his delight and appreciation to the women for finding time to pay him the visit. He described the visit as a demonstration of goodwill and encouraged the association to continue promoting unity, peace and mutual understanding among its members and within the larger society.

The Commandant further urged the women to serve as good ambassadors and positive representatives of their communities, particularly by promoting peaceful coexistence, respect for constituted authorities and responsible conduct. He also encouraged them to extend the message of peace, unity and security consciousness to other members of the association who were unable to attend the visit.

Comdt. Aniviye assured the association of the Command’s continued commitment to maintaining an open and cordial relationship with community-based organisations and other relevant stakeholders in the collective effort to promote peace, security and sustainable development across Niger State.

The State Commandant prayed for the continued progress, unity and success of the Ebira Women Association and wished its members well in all their endeavours.

ASSOCIATION OF MOTOR DEALERS OF NIGERIA PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO COMMANDANT S.S. ANIVIYE

The Chairman of the Association of Motor Dealers of Nigeria, Niger State Chapter, alongside members of the association, paid a courtesy and familiarisation visit to the State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State Command, Commandant Suberu Siyaka Aniviye, at the State Command Headquarters in Minna.

The Chairman explained that the purpose of the visit was to strengthen synergy and foster a cordial working relationship between the association and the NSCDC Niger State Command. He commended the Corps for its efforts in protecting lives and property and for the various security services being rendered to residents of the state.

He particularly appreciated the Command for its swift intervention and professional efforts that led to the recovery of a vehicle, describing the achievement as a clear demonstration of the Corps’ commitment to safeguarding the interests of citizens and supporting lawful businesses.

In his response, the State Commandant, Commandant Suberu Siyaka Aniviye, warmly received and welcomed the delegation. He assured the association of the Corps’ continued support and commitment to ensuring a secure and enabling environment for legitimate businesses to thrive across the state.

The Commandant urged members of the association to remain united and work collectively towards promoting the growth and development of the motor dealership business. He further advised them to conduct their activities in accordance with the law and to shun all forms of illegal practices capable of tarnishing the image of the association or resulting in legal disputes and court cases.

Commandant Aniviye also emphasised the importance of sustained cooperation, information sharing and mutual understanding between the association and the Corps, noting that effective collaboration would further enhance security and contribute to the protection of lives, property and lawful business activities within Niger State.

The visit ended with an assurance of continued partnership and cooperation between the Association of Motor Dealers of Nigeria and the NSCDC Niger State Command.

COMMANDANT S.S. ANIVIYE COMMISSIONS NSCDC NIGER STATE COMMAND CLINIC

Earlier today, the State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State Command, Comdt. Suberu Siyaka Aniviye, officially commissioned the newly established NSCDC Niger State Command Clinic.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by distinguished guests and key stakeholders in the health, emergency management and security sectors. Among them were the Director-General, Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), Alhaji Abdullahi Baba Arah; the Executive Director, Niger State Drugs and Hospital Consumables Agency, Dr. Umar Ndagi; the Head of Operations, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr. Hussein Isah; and the Managing Director, United Healthcare, who was represented by Mr. Kayode John.

Also in attendance was the Commandant, Nata’ala Mindai Baba, who represented the Assistant Commandant-General (ACG), Zone 4 Headquarters, Minna, alongside other senior officers and invited guests.

The special guests delivered goodwill messages, commending the leadership of the Niger State Command for the laudable initiative and describing the establishment of the clinic as a significant step towards improving access to quality healthcare services for officers, men and other beneficiaries within the Command.

The Head of the Crisis Management and Disaster Management Department, DCC T.F. Abosede, officially led the State Commandant, special guests and other dignitaries on an inspection tour of the clinic and its facilities. The delegation inspected the available medical facilities and equipment before the formal commissioning of the clinic by the State Commandant, Comdt. Suberu Siyaka Aniviye, alongside the special guests.

The establishment and commissioning of the NSCDC Niger State Command Clinic demonstrate the Command’s commitment to promoting the health, welfare and wellbeing of its personnel, while strengthening its capacity to provide timely and essential healthcare services within the Command.

The State Commandant expressed appreciation to the invited guests and all stakeholders who contributed towards the successful establishment and commissioning of the clinic. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining initiatives that enhance the welfare, productivity and operational effectiveness of officers and men of the Corps.

COMDT. S.S. ANIVIYE RECEIVES CEO OF ELEMENTAL LTD ON COURTESY VISIT

The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State Command, Commandant Suberu Siyaka Aniviye, has received the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Elemental Ltd, Mr. Akin Thompson, on a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters in Minna.

Speaking during the visit, Mr. Thompson expressed his appreciation to the State Commandant and the management of the Command for the warm reception accorded him and his delegation.

He stated that Elemental Ltd has an operational presence across Niger and Kebbi States, as well as in some parts of Northern Nigeria. He explained that the company is actively engaged in telecommunications infrastructure development, fibre optic installation, and the operation of heavy-duty equipment.

According to him, the purpose of the visit was to formally introduce the company to the Command and strengthen the existing relationship between Elemental Ltd and the NSCDC, particularly in the area of protecting Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI).

Mr. Thompson acknowledged the strategic role of the NSCDC in safeguarding critical infrastructure across the country and expressed the company’s readiness to collaborate with the Corps in ensuring the protection of telecommunications facilities and other critical infrastructure within its areas of operation.

In his response, the State Commandant, Commandant Suberu Siyaka Aniviye, welcomed the CEO and his delegation, assuring them that they had come to the right place, considering the statutory mandate of the NSCDC in the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.

Commandant Aniviye explained that the Federal Government has entrusted the Corps with the responsibility of protecting critical national assets and infrastructure, including telecommunications installations, fibre optic cables, power facilities, pipelines, and other strategic public and private infrastructure.

He further stated that the Niger State Command has continued to engage and collaborate with relevant stakeholders in the area of CNAI protection. He noted that the Command had previously hosted several stakeholders, including construction companies operating within Niger State, for sensitisation and discussions on the need to protect critical infrastructure and prevent acts of vandalism.

The State Commandant particularly emphasised the need for companies and contractors involved in construction and infrastructure development to exercise due diligence during excavation and other operational activities in order to prevent damage to fibre optic cables and other underground telecommunications facilities.

He assured Elemental Ltd of the Command’s readiness to sustain a cordial working relationship with the company and provide the necessary support within the framework of the Corps’ mandate to safeguard critical national assets and infrastructure.

The visit ended with a mutual commitment to strengthen collaboration, information sharing, and proactive measures aimed at enhancing the protection and security of telecommunications infrastructure and other critical assets across Niger State.
