The Wife of the Governor of Niger State, Her Excellency Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago, has reaffirmed her commitment to supporting programmes and partnerships aimed at improving maternal, newborn, and child healthcare across Niger State.
Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago made this known while receiving the management team of the Niger State Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), led by its Executive Director, Dr. Junaidu Inuwa, during a courtesy visit at her Office in Minna, ushered by Dr. Aisha Ndaliman who introduced members of the agencyβs management team and highlighted the purpose of the visit.
The Executive Director of the Niger State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Junaidu Inuwa, commended the Wife of the Governor for her consistent humanitarian interventions and support towards maternal and child healthcare programmes in the state.
He disclosed that the agency is preparing for the 2026 Maternal and Child Health Week scheduled to commence on June 1st and sought the support and participation of Her Excellency during the official flag-off of key interventions, including deworming exercises, distribution of Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) for malnourished children, and community sensitization campaigns.
Dr. Junaidu also appreciated Hajiya Fatima Bago for donating over 3,000 professional kits and identity materials to healthcare workers across the state, describing the intervention as a major boost to healthcare delivery and staff morale.
He further congratulated the Wife of the Governor on her recent appointment as a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Dieticians ahead of its 56th National Conference scheduled for August 2026.
Responding, the Wife of the Governor emphasized that primary healthcare remains the foundation of quality healthcare delivery and sustainable community wellbeing, particularly for women and children. She appreciated the efforts of the agency in strengthening healthcare services across the state and assured them of her continuous support towards initiatives

In a heartfelt effort to support struggling families and strengthen small businesses across Niger State, the FirstLadyofNiger State, Her Excellency Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago has empowered 250 petty traders and small-scale entrepreneurs with grants of β¦100,000 each.
The beneficiaries, drawn from the three senatorial districts of the state, include women and youths engaged in various micro businesses whose daily efforts continue to sustain homes and various communities despite economic challenges.
The atmosphere at the empowerment programme was filled with excitement, gratitude, and hope as beneficiaries received the financial support designed to help them expand their businesses, improve their livelihoods, and become more economically stable.
The event which took place at the Women Multipurpose Centre in Minna on Wednesday 13th May, 2026 was attended by top government officials and stakeholders, including Permanent Secretaries, Directors-General, Commissioners, and wives of principal officers, all of whom applauded the First Lady for her consistent commitment to touching lives at the grassroots.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Hadiza Idris Kuta, encouraged beneficiaries to make wise use of the opportunity by investing the funds into their businesses for long-term benefit. She urged them to see the support as a stepping stone towards growth, stability, and self-reliance.
Several dignitaries who spoke during the programme described the intervention as thoughtful and impactful, noting that Hajiya Fatima Bago has continued to demonstrate genuine concern for the welfare of women, youths, and vulnerable groups across the state.
For many of the beneficiaries, the intervention came as a timely relief. Representatives from different communities and language groups expressed deep appreciation to the First Lady, describing the gesture as one that would positively change their businesses and family lives.

Her Excellency, Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago, First Lady of Niger State, joined members of the Northern Governorsβ Spousesβ Forum (NGWF) in empowering 100 women and youths with a total grant of β¦10 million during its First Quarter Meeting in Zamfara State.
Each beneficiary received β¦100,000 to support small businesses and improve their livelihoods. The presentation took place at the Garba Na Dama JB Secretariat in Gusau.
