Clara could not stop crying.
The old birthday card remained in her hands.
For years...
She had believed she was forgotten.
Abandoned.
Unwanted.
But now she knew the truth.
Her parents had written to her.
They had remembered her birthdays.
They had tried to reach her.
Someone had simply made sure she never received their love.
That realization hurt more than anything.
Because the life she thought she had lost...
Had been stolen from her.
That night, Clara sat by the window reading every word of the card.
Then something fell out.
A photograph.
Old and slightly torn.
Her hands trembled as she picked it up.
It was a picture of two little girls.
Dressed in matching clothes.
Holding hands.
Smiling.
On the back was written:
"Clara and Sophia. Together forever."
Clara burst into tears.
This was the first picture she had ever seen of herself and her twin sister.
She gently touched Sophia's face.
"Where are you?" she whispered.
Meanwhile...
Miles away...
Sophia sat alone in a beautiful bedroom.
The room was large.
The bed was expensive.
Everything around her looked perfect.
But her heart wasn't.
In her hands was the exact same photograph.
And tears streamed down her face.
For years, she had asked the same question.
"Where is my sister?"
Everyone around her always changed the subject.
Everyone always avoided the truth.
But Sophia had never stopped searching.
Never.
Suddenly, someone knocked on her door.
It was an elderly woman.
The family's longtime housekeeper.
She looked nervous.
Very nervous.
"Sophia," she whispered.
"There is something you deserve to know."
Sophia stood up immediately.
The old woman reached into her bag.
And pulled out a faded envelope.
"I've kept this for many years."
Sophia stared at it.
Confused.
Then she saw the name written on it.
CLARA.
Her heart nearly stopped.
The old woman lowered her head.
"I was ordered never to give it to anyone."
Sophia's eyes widened.
"Who ordered you?"
The woman hesitated.
Tears filled her eyes.
Then she finally spoke.
And the name she mentioned made Sophia step backward in shock.
Because it was someone Sophia loved.
Someone she trusted.
Someone she never suspected.
At that same moment...
Back in Clara's village...
The black car returned.
This time, it didn't stay hidden.
It stopped directly in front of Uncle James' house.
The door slowly opened.
A woman stepped out.
Elegant.
Rich.
Powerful.
She looked straight at Clara.
And whispered:
"After all these years... I finally found you."
Clara's heart stopped.
Because the woman looked familiar.
Very familiar.
Almost like...
Family.

The crowd gathered around the burning mango tree.
Neighbors whispered.
Children pointed.
Everyone wanted to know who could do such a thing.
But Clara wasn't looking at the fire.
She was staring at the note.
"STOP LOOKING FOR SOPHIA."
Her hands trembled.
Whoever wrote those words knew about Sophia.
And whoever knew about Sophia...
Knew the truth.
That night, Clara sat alone in her room.
She couldn't eat.
She couldn't sleep.
Every time she closed her eyes, she saw Grandma Rose.
She heard her voice.
"Stay strong, Clara."
Tears rolled down her cheeks.
"I am trying, Grandma," she whispered.
"But I am tired."
Very tired.
For years, she had suffered.
For years, she had been called names.
For years, she had searched for love.
And now that she was finally close to the truth...
Someone wanted to stop her.
The next morning, Uncle James knocked on her door.
For the first time in years, he looked different.
Older.
Broken.
Guilty.
"Clara," he said softly.
"We need to talk."
Clara followed him outside.
They sat beneath a small tree.
For several minutes, neither of them spoke.
Then Uncle James sighed.
And said words that changed everything.
"The day your parents left Nigeria... they didn't leave with one child."
Clara froze.
Her heart stopped.
"What do you mean?"
Uncle James lowered his head.
Tears filled his eyes.
"They left with two."
Clara's world spun.
Two?
Her voice shook.
"Two children?"
Uncle James nodded.
"Yes."
"You and Sophia."
Clara could barely breathe.
Sophia.
The girl in the photograph.
The girl she had been searching for.
The girl connected to every secret.
Was her sister.
Her twin sister.
Clara burst into tears.
All these years...
She wasn't alone.
She had a sister.
A sister she never knew.
A sister she never met.
A sister who might have been searching for her too.
Then Uncle James handed her a small envelope.
"I should have given you this years ago."
Clara slowly opened it.
Inside was a birthday card.
Old.
Faded.
Unopened.
It was addressed to her.
From her parents.
The date on it was twelve years ago.
Her hands shook as she read the first line.
"To our precious Clara, if you're reading this, then we have failed you."
A tear dropped onto the paper.
Then another.
And another.
Because for the first time...
Clara realized something heartbreaking.
Her parents never forgot her.
Someone had made sure she never received their letters.
Someone had stolen years of love from her life.
And as she cried into the letter...
Neither she nor Uncle James noticed a black car parked across the street.
Watching them.
Waiting.
And inside the car...
A woman was holding a photograph.
A photograph of Clara.

That night...
Clara couldn't sleep.
The five words kept echoing in her mind.
"Find Sophia before it's too late."
Who was Sophia?
Why did Grandma Rose want her to find her?
And why was she crying while holding the same photograph?
Questions flooded Clara's heart.
But she had no answers.
Only fear.
The next morning...
Aunty Vivian acted strangely.
For the first time in years, she was being nice.
Very nice.
Too nice.
She served Clara breakfast.
She even smiled at her.
Clara felt a chill run through her body.
Because sometimes...
Fake kindness is more frightening than open hatred.
That evening, Clara overheard another conversation.
Aunty Vivian was on the phone.
Speaking in a low voice.
"We have a problem."
She paused.
Then continued.
"The girl has seen the documents."
Clara's heart nearly stopped.
The girl?
They were talking about her.
Aunty Vivian's voice trembled.
"If she finds Sophia, everything is finished."
Everything?
Finished?
Before Clara could hear more, the call ended.
Suddenly...
She heard footsteps behind her.
Aunty Vivian turned.
Their eyes met.
For a few seconds...
Nobody moved.
Nobody spoke.
Then Aunty Vivian smiled.
But this time...
The smile was terrifying.
That night...
Clara made a decision.
For the first time in her life...
She would stop being afraid.
She would find Sophia.
No matter what it cost.
No matter where it led.
The next morning, while cleaning her grandmother's room again, Clara found something hidden inside an old Bible.
A small piece of paper.
Old.
Folded.
Yellow with age.
On it was an address.
And beneath the address were four words.
"Sophia lives here."
Clara's hands began shaking.
She finally had a clue.
A real clue.
Without telling anyone...
She slipped the paper into her pocket.
But as she turned around...
Her blood ran cold.
Standing at the doorway was Uncle James.
He had seen everything.
The paper.
The fear.
The secret.
For a moment...
His eyes filled with tears.
Then he whispered something that broke Clara's heart.
"Your grandmother begged me to protect you."
Clara froze.
Tears filled her eyes.
"Then why didn't you?" she whispered.
Uncle James couldn't answer.
Because sometimes...
Silence is a confession.
A single tear rolled down his cheek.
And for the first time...
Clara saw guilt.
Real guilt.
The guilt of a man who had failed a promise.
But before he could say another word...
A loud crash came from outside.
Both of them ran out.
And what they saw made Clara scream.
The old mango tree...
The tree where Grandma Rose used to sit...
Was burning.
Engulfed in flames.
And nailed to the trunk was a note.
A note with just one sentence:
🔥 "STOP LOOKING FOR SOPHIA." 🔥
Clara's legs nearly gave way.
Because whoever was hiding the truth...
Was now watching her.

Clara's hands trembled.
The letter fell from her fingers.
Her entire life had changed in a single afternoon.
She wasn't abandoned.
She wasn't cursed.
And she certainly wasn't a witch.
She was the rightful heir to a fortune.
Yet...
She was sleeping on a thin mat.
Washing clothes.
Being insulted every day.
While someone else enjoyed the life that belonged to her.
Suddenly...
A twig snapped behind her.
Clara turned around.
Her heart nearly stopped.
Aunty Vivian stood there.
The look in her eyes was frightening.
"What are you reading?" she asked coldly.
Clara quickly hid the papers behind her back.
"Nothing."
Aunty Vivian laughed.
A strange laugh.
The kind that sends fear through your body.
"You found the suitcase, didn't you?"
Clara's face turned pale.
For a moment...
Neither of them spoke.
Then Aunty Vivian stepped closer.
And whispered:
"Your grandmother should have destroyed those documents."
Clara froze.
How did she know?
Before she could answer, Aunty Vivian grabbed her arm.
Hard.
Very hard.
"You don't know what you're getting yourself into."
Tears filled Clara's eyes.
"Please let me go."
But Aunty Vivian wasn't listening.
Years of secrets were finally catching up with her.
And she was terrified.
That night...
Clara heard something outside her room.
Voices.
Whispers.
Carefully, she moved closer to the door.
It was Uncle James and Aunty Vivian.
Arguing.
For the first time in years.
"I told you we should have gotten rid of those papers!" Aunty Vivian hissed.
Uncle James looked nervous.
"What if the girl knows everything?"
Clara's heart pounded.
Everything?
What everything?
Then Uncle James said something that shattered her world.
"Her parents trusted us."
"We promised to protect her."
Clara covered her mouth.
Her parents?
Trusted them?
What was happening?
Aunty Vivian's voice became louder.
"Protect her?"
"Look at us now!"
"If she discovers the truth, we'll lose everything!"
Lose everything?
Clara could barely breathe.
Because suddenly...
She realized something.
The people she thought rescued her after Grandma Rose died...
Were hiding something much bigger than she imagined.
And whatever it was...
They were willing to do anything to keep it buried.
That night, Clara cried silently.
Not because she was afraid.
But because for the first time...
She understood that the people she called family had been lying to her all along.
As she wiped her tears away...
She unfolded the photograph again.
And this time...
She noticed something she had missed before.
Written on the back of the picture were five words:
"Find Sophia before it's too late."
Sophia?
Who was Sophia?
The girl in the photograph?
Her sister?
Her twin?
Or the key to the truth?
Clara stared at the words.
Unaware that somewhere far away...
A young woman named Sophia was staring at the same photograph.
And crying.

I told God,
"Lord, I've been through enough. Please take away every challenge in my life."
God smiled and said,
"My child, if there were no challenges, how would you know that I am a miracle-working God?"
I paused for a moment... then replied,
"Okay Lord, I understand... but can You please stop proving it every week?" 😂😂🙏
