GRACE Initiative carried out weekly Tom brown distribution alongside IYCF counselling sessions in the Hausari community of Gubio.

Last week in Maiduguri,Borno State,
GRACE Initiative staff attended the official kick‑off meeting with her consortium partners Grow Strong Foundation and FRAD Foundation, for the project Titled “Integrated Nutrition and Child Protection Lean Season Response for Community Resilience to Vulnerable Populations in Borno State.”

The meeting,sets the project’s goals and reinforced donor compliance a cornerstone of our implementation plan. We outlined steps to strengthen accountability and ensure a transparent, impactful rollout in Gubio LGA.

Key focus: treating children under 5 with Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) using Tom Brown. This approach aims to mitigate malnutrition to it's bearer minimum at the grassroots community we serve.

Commemorating the International Day of the Girl Child last year 2024, GRACE Initiative organized a empowering event focused on promoting the safety, well-being, and confidence of adolescent girls.

The highlight of the day was a therapeutic session designed specifically for girls. Our team led an interactive workshop, equipping participants with essential skills to manage peer pressure. Additionally, we hosted a creative henna design session, providing a fun and engaging platform for self-expression.

This event aimed to foster a supportive environment, encouraging girls to build resilience, develop positive relationships, and celebrate their individuality.

During a small-scale disability inclusion project supported by FRAD Foundation and funded by the Nigerian Humanitarian Fund (NHF), we conducted a community sensitization activity on raising awareness about the detrimental effects of deforestation for firewood and charcoal production.

We showcased an innovative, eco-friendly alternative producing charcoal from farm waste. This sustainable approach promotes environmental conservation, reduces harm to the environment, and supports inclusive community development.

GRACE Initiative Empowering Communities.

On the 24-28 of Feb 2025,GRACE Initiative was trained by ActionAid Nigeria,on programming,Human Resources Management, Logistics and procurement, Finance Documentation, reporting and Governance,we are happy to be a part of FLOURISH Mentorship program Anchored by ActionAid Nigeria.

During a mother to mother sensitisation session,we emphasis that mothers make it a priority to check the MUAC of their children time to time to detect Malnutrition.
