New possibilities for resilience and impact

Yesterday we received the Nkamson Charity Foundation Nigerian team to our office.

We had a fruitful discussion that focused on collaborative efforts for scalable humanitarian response in BAY State.

On the areas of our interests we agreed to come up with holistic and durable projects initiatives that foster environmental protection, youth empowerment and safeguarding for women and girls.

Localisation is the only way to durable solutions to affected population.

We have joined the Change the Code campaign—not as observers, but out of responsibility to ensure that young people are not excluded from the humanitarian reset.

The current “reset” risks reproducing the same systemic gaps. Young people—who are often first responders and long-term actors in crisis settings—remain largely absent from decision-making spaces.

Our demands are clear:
Meaningful youth representation within global humanitarian architecture—not symbolic inclusion, but decision-making power at all levels.
Equitable access to funding by removing restrictive and overly complex criteria that systematically exclude youth-led organizations.

This is not just about inclusion—it is about effectiveness, accountability, and sustainability of humanitarian response.
If the system is being reset, it must be reset with young people, not around them.

We hosted a representative from the Nigeria Jubilee Fellowship Programme (NJFP) to strengthen partnership and collaboration for sustainable impact.

NJFP reaffirmed its commitment to supporting our staffing needs for a one-year period, reinforcing our capacity to deliver on our mandate.

The visit also provided an opportunity for meaningful discussions centered on young people as the true drivers of the future—highlighting the importance of creating pathways for opportunity and empowerment.

Building the capacity of responders is where real impact begins. Without experience and commitment, impact cannot be sustained.
We kick-started the week with Daniel Soro, focusing on strengthening ROAF’s resource mobilization and strategic direction.

The session went beyond fundraising—it explored the broader humanitarian architecture, equipping responders with a deeper understanding of how humanitarian systems are structured, why they exist, and how to engage effectively within them.

We appreciate our donor for investing in our capacity strengthening journey—driving accountability and enabling a more scalable humanitarian response. That is the kind of impact that endures.
