Today we celebrate the strength, dreams, and limitless potential of every boy child.

Every boy deserves a safe environment, quality education, protection from harm, emotional support, and the freedom to grow into a responsible, compassionate, and confident individual. By investing in boys today, we are shaping a future built on peace, equality, and positive leadership.

Let us continue to nurture boys with care, guidance, and opportunities that help them thrive and become agents of change in their communities.

At Protection Without Borders, it remains a mission to protecting children, promoting dignity, and creating spaces where every child can reach their full potential.

Happy International Day of the Boy Child!

Communities thrive when awareness comes early. Early sensitization creates the power to prevent, protect, and save lives before outbreaks escalate into emergencies.

Today at Protection Without Borders we carried out a life saving community sensitization campaign in BICC Camp and Shehuri South Community, Borno State, focused on cholera outbreak prevention and response.

Through interactive learning sessions, community members were educated on:
• The causes and symptoms of cholera
• Preventive measures and hygiene practices
• The importance of safe water preservation
• Proper and consistent handwashing habits
• Early response and treatment pathways

A key highlight of the session was on how to prepare and administer homemade Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) as immediate first aid support for suspected cholera patients before seeking urgent medical attention if symptoms persist.

The engagement also created a platform for dialogue, questions, and shared community responsibility in preventing the spread of disease.

At Protection without Borders we believe that knowledge is one of the strongest tools in humanitarian response. Every sensitization, every conversation, and every informed household brings us one step closer to healthier, safer, and more resilient communities.

Together, prevention begins with awareness.

Last week, we attended the NHF-VIII State level Close Out Meeting for the “Provision of Life-Saving Child Protection and Gender-Based Violence Interventions for Vulnerable Populations at Risk During the Lean Season in Borno State,” held at City Star Lounge.

The meeting brought together lead partners from Street Child of Nigeria , alongside partners from Cedar Foundation For Disability and Novel Alliance for Development Aid - NADA. Discussions focused on the project’s achievements, successes recorded, challenges encountered, lessons learned, and the way forward for future interventions.

Representatives from each organization delivered brief presentations highlighting their community engagements, key activities implemented, and overall project outputs. The session also provided an opportunity for reflection, collaboration, and shared learning among partners.

At the close of the meeting, partners collectively rated the project’s overall success as excellent, marking yet another significant milestone achieved in delivering impactful humanitarian support to vulnerable populations in Borno State.

We remain committed to strengthening protection services, promoting dignity, and supporting vulnerable communities through sustainable and impactful interventions.

Happy International Worker's Day from all of us Protection without Borders

01/05/2026

Behind every response, every safe space, and every life restored there are people who choose to show up, even in the most difficult places.

Today Protection Without Borders (POWIB) celebrates the humanitarian workers, community volunteers, and frontline responders whose commitment keeps hope alive in vulnerable communities.

Your work is not just a duty it is courage in action.
It is compassion in motion.
It is humanity at its best.

As we mark this day, we call for greater recognition, protection, and support for those who serve others often at personal risk.

Because when workers are protected, communities are stronger.

Happy International Workers Day!

A GBV awareness sensitization activity was conducted to educate community members on the forms, risks, and prevention of gender-based violence, as well as available reporting and referral pathways. Participants also learned about the dangers of GBV, available support services, and the important role everyone plays in protecting women, girls, and vulnerable individuals.

The session encouraged open dialogue and strengthened collective responsibility toward promoting safety, dignity, and respect within the community.

Together, we say NO TO GBV.

Thank you for partnering with Protection without Borders and Godiya Cherished Care for Humanitarian Response Initiative to make this activity possible.
