Title: Romeo Patapan
Author: Simon Joseph Okeguale
Once upon a time in the land where all insects live, there lived a caterpillar whose name was Romeo Patapan. He was the only insect of its kind and he was very fat and ugly. No insect in the whole city ever spoke to him. He lived his live as a lonely and miserable insect. All the insects in the the city call him all sorts of names. Some call him a glutton, while others call him monster.
Romeo Patapan lived far away from the other insects inside a mango tree at the end of the city. He spends most of his time tidying up his surrounding as if he was expecting a visitor.
One day Romeo Patapan heard someone calling for help through his window. It was an housefly who had been caught up in a spider's web. Moved with pity, he quickly crawled out of his house to rescue the poor housefly. After releasing the housefly from his misery. The ungrateful insect flew away without showing gratitude.
All the insects gathered one Saturday for their annual meeting. All the insects had hardly sat down when Romeo Patapan entered the place. All the insects started mocking him and they humiliated him in front of everybody. Depressed and embarrassed, he walked out of the meeting and went straight to his house. He wept for hours and there was no one to comfort him.
Whenever Romeo Patapan was sad he would climb to the top of the mango tree to watch the beautiful sun and feel the gentle breeze. He would then make a wish that one day all his troubles would be over. He did this day after day and week after week hoping that one day his wish would be fulfilled. One night, he had a strange dream, he saw himself flying in the sky with his two colourful wings. The dream spoke a little to him as he woke up being confused the next morning. He pondered about the dream for many days before it fizzled out of his mind.
After taking his meal one evening, Romeo Patapan sat on the tree branch ruing his misfortune. He slept off on the tree branch and didn't wake up for days.
All the insects who saw him on the tree branch thought he was dead because his skin had changed colour. With no pity shown on the catarpiller, they walked away mocking his grave.
After some weeks Romeo Patapan broke out of his old skin. He became a butterfly and looked very handsome. All the insects who saw him break out of his old skin called out to the others. They were all amazed and were filled with shame. "The once ugly and fat caterpillar had turned out to be the most beautiful insect in the whole city", they murmured. All the insects walked away shamefully from the place.
Meanwhile, Romeo Patapan flew in the air with his wings and later met his own kind.

THE LOST PRINCE 3:
As soon as Latifa got home her husband Bode started beating her. She was sent out of the house by Bode, not knowing that Latifa was three months pregnant. Latifa packed her things and went to a neighbouring village to stay with her friend Shola. Shola and her husband were very kind to Latifa hearing what she had passed through. After six months Latifa gave birth to a baby boy, who looks just like his father. She named him after his father and called his name Olabode. When Olabode was seven years old, things became hard for Shola and her family. They were forced to send Latifa and Olabode out of the house. Latifa and her son started living in the bush. They lived there for five years and survived by begging for alms. When Olabode was 20 years old her mother told him all that she had gone through in her husbands house and that she was from a royal family. Olabode was determined to avenge her dieing mother but her mother pleaded with him not to do that. She told him to be a good child.

THE LOST PRINCE 2:
Then she saw a strange animal drawing close to her; she could only see its two sparkling eyes as the dark night had covered its whole body. Latifa was terrified she thought it was the end. Suddenly, a bright light fell on her face and a voice from the thick forest stopped the animal from attacking her. Latifa was relieved as the animal retreated. An hunter carrying a gun with his dog then came out among the trees and said to Latifa " Young woman, what are you doing here?" "I was forced to the stream to fetch water by my husband" Latifa replied. "Don't you know that it is very risky for a woman to go to the stream in the night?" the hunter questioned. "Come let me es**rt you back to your village" said the kind hunter. Latifa was very happy as she picked up her empty calabash and followed the hunter, and the hunter's dog that attacked her walked behind them. When Latifa was close to her house, she thanked the kind hunter and said goodbye.

It came again last night
When everywhere was without light
It bored through the old net
And flew in the air like a passing jet
It pierced through the midnight air
With its blood-sucking spear
After patrolling the whole room
It landed softly on my foot
Then it dipped its blood-sucking spear in my body
Sucking off the red juice down to its belly
When it was through with its feast
It staggered and flew back to its nest

THE KING OF THE JEWS
He came to the world to save humanity
He came so He could take away our iniquity
He was born without sin
He was different from what eyes have seen
Then came those whom we thought understand
Those whom we thought would lead us into his hand
They gathered together to plot his fall
Both the chief priests and the soldiers inside the hall
They stripped him and put on him a crown of thorn
They mocked him and looked upon him with scorn
They parted his garments casting lots
Even the thief on his left said a lot
"He saved others; himself he cannot save"
Then they that pierced him
They that crucified him
Set up his accusation written:
"THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS"
The Lost Prince PART1:
Once upon a time in Alamo village. there lived a man with two wives; the first was Labake and the other was Latifa. Labake has three children, but Latifa was without child. Latifa was raised from a royal family, his grand-father was a king before his father's brother took over after the death of her grand-father. Because of Latifa's predicament, she was treated like a slave despite being the first wife. Their husband Bode will make her do all the house job while Labake the second wife was treated like a queen. One night Latifa was made to go to the stream to fetch water, which was very risky for a woman as dangerous animals move around during that period. She begged her husband not to allow her go out at that period but he refused. Latifa out of choice ventured to the stream. On her way back she heard strange noises behind her. She became frightened and started running towards the village. As the strange noice drew near, she tripped and fell on the ground.

Title: Frosty died last December
Frosty died last December,
My closest friend for fifteen years.
We were born the same
November;
Now I can't put down my tears.
It's not fair that dogs should live
Just a short piece of our lives;
They give us the love we give
To parents, children, husbands,
wives.
More loyal than a human love,
More passionate and all-
consuming:
No spat would Frosty's love
remove,
So fixed on me, so unassuming.
My grief is real, my pain is strong,
Though not all would be so
moved;
But I can't think how I'll go on
Without this creature I so loved.

This was one of the feature of our parrot
When we wake up in the morning
He will say with a smile 'Good morning'
When we come back from church
He will say with a smile 'Welcome back'
Whem we go to sleep in the night
He will say with a smile ' Good night'
One day we opened his cage to feed him
He flew away and say with a smile ' Goodbye'

So peaceful it moves slowly
giving us light benevolently
not caring whether men are evil or not
giving time to us poor fellows
