This afternoon, I received Mr. Michael Adebola, National Coordinator of the National Civic Quest and author of The Nigerian Students’ Handbook on Civic Awareness, Nigerian History and General Knowledge, at the OJN Foundation Secretariat in Lokoja.

We discussed possible areas of partnership and collaboration. He also donated 100 copies of his book to the Foundation for onward distribution to youths and students across Kogi State.

Governor Ododo’s Aide Fulfills Promise Made at Ogidi Day, Gifts Motorcycle to Ibrahim Hassan

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Kogi State on Youth and Student Matters, Hon. Oladele John Nihi, has fulfilled a pledge he made during the 2026 Ogidi Day celebration by presenting a motorcycle to Mr. Ibrahim Hassan, an indigene of Ogidi Community.

The presentation took place today at Hon. Nihi’s residence in Lokoja, where the beneficiary received the motorcycle as promised during the annual cultural event held on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Nihi reaffirmed his commitment to supporting young people and members of the community through meaningful interventions that improve their livelihoods and promote development.

The gesture reflects his dedication to keeping promises and giving back to society, a value that has continued to define his public service and community engagement.

Mr. Ibrahim Hassan expressed his appreciation to Hon. Nihi for fulfilling the pledge, describing the motorcycle as a timely support that will positively impact his daily activities.

The presentation has been widely commended by members of the community, Hon. Shuaibu Ipinmisho, Hon. Alonge Israel Femi among others who noted that honoring commitments strengthens trust between leaders and the people they serve.

Ekiti Decides: Another Big Statement of Commitment to the Success of APC by the Kogi State Governor

No doubt, Kogi State governors have always been at the forefront of delivering victories for the APC whenever elections are held in neighboring states. The immediate past Governor and Supreme Leader of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello, demonstrated this commitment throughout his eight years in office.

The incumbent Governor and Chief Servant of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has also given his all in Edo, Ondo, and now Ekiti State. He has not only participated in campaigns but has remained on the ground until the final declaration of election results.

Kudos to both the immediate past and incumbent governors for their dedication and commitment to the success of our great party. However, I do not think these neighboring states have reciprocated this gesture adequately during elections in Kogi State. I only hope that, going forward, we will receive the necessary support and reciprocity from our neighbors during our own elections.

This initiative is aimed at discovering, nurturing, and supporting talented young footballers by providing them with opportunities to showcase their skills and gain exposure to both national and international platforms. It also seeks to promote unity, teamwork, and healthy competition among our youths.

The OJN Football Talent Tournament is set to become another flagship annual event of the Oladele John Nihi Foundation, in partnership with Anchor Football Academy.

The maiden edition of the tournament will run from 24th June to 11th July, 2026, at the Confluence Stadium, Zone 8, Lokoja, Kogi State.
