Greenhouse farming is crucial in agriculture as it involves the planting of crops in a controlled environment which reduces the effects of pest and diseases that comes with farming in an open field

The water and air monitoring make it possible for certain crops such as tomatoes, lettuce, pepper, cucumber, spinach, and herbs to grow and thrive regardless of the external weather conditions.

According to the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), 17% of global food production went into waste, with 61% of this waste coming from households, 26% from food service, and 13% from retail.

Farm mechanization is one of the factors responsible for urbanization and industrial economies. Undoubtedly, it displaced animal power but has resulted in less time for farm work.

The use of technology in agriculture has created a vicious cycle leveraging inventions like drones, robots, and computer imaging devices that can gather information like soil moisture, chemical application, dam levels, and livestock health as well as monitor irrigation and weather.

These inventions have aided in making food available to consumers, helped in increasing sustainability and, saved time for farmers leading to efficiency in the agricultural space.
