Sharing Life Issue with Simplejoe

For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

James 4:15

In John 17 — the "High Priestly Prayer" — we see the most intimate window into how Jesus prayed.

He didn't beg. He communed.

"Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you." (v.1)

He spoke to the Father as someone who already knew the answer was yes.

Mark 1:35 — He rose "very early in the morning, while it was still dark."

This is after healing crowds until sunset, after an exhausting day.

And He still rose before dawn to pray.

If the Son of God guarded His prayer time that fiercely, what does that say about ours?

The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.
