Nigeria's Acting President Yemi Osinbajo is in Calabar, the capital of Cross River state on a state visit.

He arrived on Thursday, June 1, to the warm embrace of children and people of the state, a gesture for which the Acting President was so grateful.

Osinbajo took to social media to thank the people for their support, saying: "Calabar, thank you so much for the warmth and welcome!"

Isn't this so beautiful? :)👍

On Tuesday, 23rd of May, the World Health Organization (WHO) member states elected Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus of Ethiopia as the new Director-General to serve for a 5-year renewable term, at the World Health Assembly in Geneva. Dr Tedros beat Dr David Nabarro of Great Britain and Dr Sania Nishtar, a Pakistani National to become the first African and non-medical doctor to hold the position.
During his time as minister, the Ethiopian health system experienced expanding access to Universal Health Care. New initiatives led to the construction of more than 3,500 health centres and 16,000 health posts, up from the paltry 600 centres which were serving Ethiopia’s population of 76 million on his assumption of office.
Anyone who would rise as Nigeria’s health ‘hero’ would need to take a few lessons from Dr. Tedros aggressive approach to health reforms in his country during his time as Minister of Health.

Air Force Men Assault UNIOSUN Students

It was gathered that the airmen invaded the university campus twice on Tuesday.

Rampaging men of the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Safety, Ipetu Ijesa, have continued their assault and brutalisation of students of the Osun State University in the town.
Our correspondent gathered that the military men later stormed the private hostels where students of the institution live, beat them up and injured some of them.
It was gathered that the airmen invaded the university campus twice on Tuesday. Not satisfied with the level of brutalisation on their victims, they later invaded the hostels and injured some of the students.
A student told our correspondent on the telephone that a 400 level student of the university, Francis Olajide Olanubi, was wounded with a machete by the irate military men.
The Dean, Student Affairs, UNIOSUN, Dr. Adebimpe Adigun, confirmed the fresh attack to our correspondent on Wednesday morning.
She said, ” They called me again that the Air Force men went to various hostels where our students live and started attacking them again. I was told that one of our students was macheted. He was taken to the school clinic for treatment.”
Our correspondent gathered that the crisis started when some Air Force men beat and detain a student believed to be one of the Internet fraudsters in the school.
The source said, “There are Yahoo boys in our school and they usually settle men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad whenever they come. At times, the boys would call the policemen that they should come for the ‘settlement.’
“The SARS came, as usual, yesterday but one of the Yahoo boys ran away to the Air Force institute to stay with his friends. He was accused of not contributing to the money to settle the police before he ran away.
“His friends went to see him there and demanded that he should contribute his quotas but his Air Force friends said these boys should leave the guy. The guys also asked the Air Force men to stay out of the matter. The insult was said to have infuriated the Air Force men, who descended on the boys. One of the boys was seriously beaten and was detained.
”They beat him and detained him there. Some students, who heard of this mobilised and wanted to go there to free him but the lecturers prevented the students. The Air Force men probably thought the students were going to attack them when this was going on and they came and invaded the campus and beat up everybody.”

Leadership is not served à la carte. It is a barbecue, where you deliberately design your own dish.
Macron's victory is a vicious reminder for the Nigerian youths who have long forgotten the achievements of young Nigerians who emerged purposeful national leaders in their youths - Azikwe aged 31 in 1962, Tafawa Balewa aged 29 in 1971 and Olusegun Obasanjo who led the nation at 39 in 1976.
After he was told his ideas were outrageous and that he would never lead France, 39 year old Emmanuel Macron created an independent political party, En Marche! and went on to win the French elections in a landslide victory.
Macron topped 66% of the vote, leaving his opponent Marine Le Pen, a prominent politician and the daughter of a former president a mere 34%. By applying the principle of 1+1=11, and becoming the youngest president, not only of France's, but the youngest democratically elected President in the world, Macron has shown the world that indeed nothing is impossible.
DO NOT WAIT. Run with your ideas today, and win.
How many of you would allow the opinions of the pessimists prevent you from achieving your goals?
#1+1=11

The Nigeria's economy is plunging into more problems. An economy showdown is looming. Yet, President Muhammadu Buhari's health condition still remain undisclosed. Technically, the nation is without an helmsman.

PMB is Nigeria's property. We have all rights to know the health condition of Mr. President. Presidential tasks are onerous, uphill and demanding, if PMB can not discharge the duties, he should go and rest peacefully at Daura, Katsina state and should be careful of the instructions of the A*o Rock cabal. His personal health should be of utmost concern to him.

Nevertheless, I wish him speedy recovery.
