CHAPTER 5: NEW BEGINNINGS

As we drove away, I felt a sense of freedom and relief wash over me. I was finally free from the suffocating grip of my family's expectations and demands.

The cityscape blurred by outside the car windows, a kaleidoscope of colors and sounds that seemed to fade into the background as I processed the events that had just transpired. Alexander's hand found mine, his fingers intertwining with my own in a gentle, reassuring grasp.

"You're doing great, Amber," he said, his voice low and soothing. "You're strong, and you're not alone."

I smiled weakly, feeling a lump form in my throat. The confrontation with my family had left me feeling drained and emotional, but with Alexander by my side, I felt like I could face anything.

The car slowed to a stop in front of a sleek, modern building, and Alexander leaned over to open the door for me. "We're home," he said, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled.

As I stepped out of the car, I felt a sense of trepidation. What lay ahead? What challenges would I face as Alexander's wife? But with him by my side, I knew I could face whatever came our way.

"Let's get inside," Alexander said, his hand on the small of my back guiding me towards the entrance. "You need to rest and process everything that's happened."

I nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards him. With Alexander, I knew I was safe, and that together, we could overcome anything.

As we entered the building, I was struck by the opulent decor and sleek lines of the modern architecture. The lobby was tastefully designed, with a large chandelier hanging from the ceiling and a sweeping staircase curving upwards.

Alexander led me to the elevator, and we rode up to the penthouse floor in silence. The doors slid open, and we stepped out into a spacious living area with floor-to-ceiling windows offering breathtaking views of the city.

"Welcome home," Alexander said, his eyes sparkling with warmth.

I smiled, feeling a sense of wonder and excitement. This was my new life, and I was ready to take on whatever came next.

Alexander guided me to the couch, and I sank into the plush cushions, feeling exhausted but relieved. He sat down beside me, pulling me into his arms.

"You're safe now," he whispered, his breath warm against my ear. "You're home, and you're with me."

I closed my eyes, letting the warmth of his body seep into mine. For the first time in a long time, I felt like I was exactly where I was meant to be.

As I rested in Alexander's arms, the tension in my body began to dissipate. The warmth of his touch and the gentle rhythm of his heartbeat were like a soothing balm to my frazzled nerves. I felt my eyelids growing heavy, and before I knew it, I had drifted off to sleep.

When I woke up, I was lying on a plush bed in a beautifully decorated bedroom. The room was filled with natural light, and the cityscape outside the window was breathtaking. Alexander was sitting beside me, his eyes fixed on mine with a warm smile.

"Hey, sleepyhead," he said, his voice low and gentle. "How are you feeling?"

I stretched, feeling a little stiff but much more relaxed. "I'm okay," I replied, my voice still husky from sleep. "What time is it?"

"It's late afternoon," Alexander said, glancing at his watch. "You've been asleep for a few hours. I think you needed it."

I nodded, feeling a little embarrassed but also grateful for the rest. Alexander helped me sit up and handed me a glass of water.

"Drink this," he said. "You must be parched."

As I sipped the water, Alexander told me about his plans for the evening. "I thought we could order some dinner and eat in," he said. "You don't have to worry about anything. Just relax and enjoy."

I smiled, feeling grateful for his thoughtfulness. "That sounds perfect," I said.

As the evening unfolded, I found myself feeling more and more at ease in Alexander's presence. We talked about everything and nothing, laughing and joking like we'd known each other for years. It was a magical evening, one that I would treasure forever.

But as the night wore on, I couldn't shake off the feeling that there were still challenges ahead. Challenges that would test our relationship and our resolve. I pushed the thought aside, focusing on the present moment and the warmth of Alexander's presence.

"Thank you for tonight," I said, as Alexander walked me to the bedroom. "It's been a perfect evening."

Alexander smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I'm glad you enjoyed it," he said. "You deserve it after everything you've been through."

I smiled back, feeling a sense of gratitude and love towards him. "I couldn't have made it through this without you," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

Alexander's expression softened, and he pulled me into his arms. "You'll never have to," he said, his voice full of conviction. "I'll always be here for you, Amber."

As the night wore on, Alexander's words echoed in my mind. You'll never have to. I'll always be here for you, Amber. The promise in his voice was unmistakable, and it filled me with a sense of security and comfort. I knew that I had found a true partner in him, someone who would stand by me through thick and thin.

The next morning, I woke up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Alexander was already up, sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee in his hand. He smiled as I approached him, and I couldn't help but feel a flutter in my chest.

"Good morning," he said, pulling me into a gentle kiss. "Sleep well?"

I nodded, feeling the warmth of his lips still on mine. "Yes, I did," I replied, taking a seat beside him.

The city was waking up, and the sounds of traffic and chatter filled the air. But in this moment, everything felt peaceful and serene. Alexander handed me a cup of coffee, and we sat there in comfortable silence, enjoying the view and each other's company.

After a while, Alexander spoke up, his voice breaking the silence. "I have a meeting today," he said. "But I'll be back home by evening. Why don't we plan something for tonight? Dinner at a new restaurant, perhaps?"

I smiled, feeling excited about the prospect. "That sounds like fun," I said. "I'd love to try out a new place."

Alexander's face lit up with a smile, and he leaned in to kiss me again. "I'll make the reservations," he said. "You can pick the place."

As he got ready to leave, I felt a sense of gratitude towards him. He was making an effort to include me in his life, to make me feel like a partner and not just a wife. It was a small gesture, but it meant the world to me.

As Alexander walked into the meeting room, he was met with a surprise. One of the investors, a woman with a sharp tongue and a critical eye, was already seated, sipping on a cup of coffee. She raised an eyebrow as Alexander approached, her gaze piercing.

"So, you're the one who's been making waves in the industry," she said, her voice dripping with skepticism. "I've heard a lot about you, Mr. Dexter. Some people say you're a visionary, while others claim you're a reckless gambler."

Alexander smiled, unfazed by her directness. "I suppose it depends on who you ask," he replied, his voice smooth as silk. "But I assure you, my vision for this project is solid, and I'm confident it will yield impressive returns."

The woman raised an eyebrow, intrigued by Alexander's confidence. "I'm looking forward to hearing more," she said, her tone still skeptical, but with a hint of curiosity.

The meeting was about to get interesting.

The tension in the room was palpable as Alexander began his presentation. The investor's skepticism was evident, but he was undeterred. With each slide, he presented his vision with conviction and passion, slowly winning over the room.

As the meeting progressed, the questions grew tougher, but Alexander's confidence never wavered. He addressed each concern with ease, his expertise shining through. The investors exchanged glances, their interest piqued.

After what felt like an eternity, the meeting concluded. Alexander left feeling optimistic, sensing he'd made a strong impression. The investors would deliberate, but he was hopeful.

As he stepped out, he sent Amber a quick text: "Meeting went well. Fingers crossed." A smile spread across his face, thinking about her response.

I saw Alex's text and I smiled widely I was very proud of my husband

"Well done" I replied "See you at dinner" I ended and placed my phone on the table

Alexander walked out of the conference room and into his office with his assistant Thalia tailing behind him

"Sir you have dinner with miss Diane tonight" she said and he arched his brows in annoyance

"Cancel it and make reservations at Diamond Star hotel" He said curtly

"Sir your father will be crossed if you cancel the meeting" she replied stuttering

"Do you work for my father or me" he asked sternly

"You, sir," Thalia replied, her voice barely above a whisper. Alexander's gaze softened slightly, and he nodded.

"Good. Then cancel the dinner with Miss Diane. I have more important things to attend to tonight. Like dinner with my wife."

Thalia nodded, her fingers flying across her phone screen. "Done, sir. Diamond Star hotel, reservations confirmed for 8 pm."

Alexander nodded, a hint of a smile on his face. "Good. Now, get me the latest reports on the project. I want to review them before tonight."

Thalia nodded and handed him a folder. "Here you go, sir. Everything looks promising. You're likely to get the funding."

Alexander's eyes scanned the reports, his mind already racing ahead to the possibilities. He was one step closer to making his vision a reality. And with Amber by his side, he felt unstoppable.

His eyes drifted through the papers and his vision came to mind

His vision to make Dexter's group of companies the largest all over the world and to be the best husband for Amber.

He thought about the possibilities of a child in their midst and about how fun it would be raising his own children just like his parents had raised him maybe even more.

"Thalia" he called through the intercom under his desk and minutes later she came bursting through the doors

"Yes sir, you called for me" She replied head down

"Arrange the best makeup designer and dressmakers for Amber for tonight. You know what instead make an appointment and have Storm take her there and bring her to the hotel"

"Yes sir" Thalia replied and walked briskly out of the office

The door bell at Alexander's penthouse rang and Amber went to answer the door

She met an able bodied man at the door and the he used an handkerchief containing chloroform to put her out

Storm put her into his car and drove out of the building and while on the road she was already awake

"Where are you taking me" she asked shaking up and he didn't even respond to her. Storm drove into the parking lot of the biggest cosmetic building in Spain

As the stylists and makeup artists worked their magic, Amber's mind whirled with questions and fear. She couldn't shake off the feeling that she'd been taken against her will, and Storm's silence only heightened her anxiety.

"Who are you?" Amber asked Storm, her voice laced with a mix of curiosity and apprehension. "And why am I here?"

Storm's expression remained neutral, but his eyes crinkled slightly at the corners. "You'll find out soon enough, Amber. Just enjoy the experience for now."

Amber's fear and frustration simmered just below the surface as the stylists continued to transform her appearance. When they finished, she gazed at her reflection in awe, but her eyes also held a hint of wariness.

Storm nodded in approval. "You look stunning, Amber."

Her nails were meticulously manicured, shaped into perfect ovals and painted a deep, rich red that matched the bold color of her lips. The nail technician had carefully applied intricate designs, delicate swirls and patterns that added an extra touch of elegance to her overall look. Amber's fingers felt like a work of art, each nail a miniature masterpiece that seemed to gleam in the light.

Her hair cascaded down her back in luscious waves, each strand perfectly coiffed and styled to frame her face. The stylist had woven a delicate silver thread through the strands, adding a touch of subtle sparkle that caught the light as she moved. Amber's tresses felt like silk, soft and luxurious to the touch, and the way they framed her face drew attention to her striking features. Her hair was a rich, dark brown, and the stylist had expertly highlighted subtle nuances of caramel and honey that added depth and dimension to her overall look.

Amber's dress was a vision of loveliness, a floor-sweeping gown in a delicate shade of champagne that seemed to shimmer and glow in the light. The fabric was silk, smooth and lustrous to the touch, and it draped elegantly across her curves, showcasing her toned physique. The dress was strapless, with delicate beading and embroidery that added a touch of whimsy and romance to the overall design. Amber's shoes were high heels, delicate stilettos in a matching champagne color that added a touch of sophistication to her overall look. They were adorned with intricate buckles and straps that seemed to wrap around her ankles like delicate jewelry, and the heels themselves were slender and impossibly high, making Amber feel like a goddess as she stood tall and proud.

As Amber stood before the mirror, she couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder at her transformed appearance. The dress hugged her curves perfectly, showcasing her toned physique. The delicate beading and embroidery on the bodice sparkled in the light, drawing attention to her décolletage. The skirt fell in soft folds to the floor, rustling gently as she moved.

Her shoes were a perfect match for the dress, with delicate straps that wrapped around her ankles like jewelry. The heels were slender and impossibly high, making Amber feel like a goddess as she stood tall and proud. The champagne color of the shoes complemented the dress perfectly, adding a touch of sophistication to her overall look.

The stylists had worked magic on her hair, weaving a delicate silver thread through the strands to add a touch of subtle sparkle. Amber's tresses cascaded down her back in luscious waves, each strand perfectly coiffed and styled to frame her face. The highlights of caramel and honey added depth and dimension to her overall look, and the way her hair framed her face drew attention to her striking features.

Amber's nails were a work of art, each one meticulously manicured and painted a deep, rich red. The intricate designs on her nails added an extra touch of elegance to her overall look, and the way her fingers felt like silk as she moved only added to her sense of wonder. She felt like a queen, ready to take on the world in her stunning new look.

As she turned to Storm, Amber's eyes met his, and for a moment, they just looked at each other. Storm's expression was unreadable, but his eyes seemed to hold a hint of approval, and maybe even a touch of admiration. Amber felt a shiver run down her spine as she wondered what he was thinking, and what the night had in store for her.

Storm took Amber out of the building and it was already evening. Amber's thoughts drifted to Alexander they were supposed to have dinner together and she had planned to confess her feelings and maybe consummate their marriage but she had being kidnapped by a stranger who was taking her to an unknown destination.

The car was brought to an abrupt end and Storm got out from the driver's seat to open the door for Amber and they walked hand in hand into Diamond star hotel the biggest five star hotel in all of Spain. Amber's heart palpitated at the thought of things that could happen inside the hotel but the thoughts drifted away when she saw the inside of the building

As they stepped into the grand lobby of the Diamond Star Hotel, Amber's eyes widened in awe. The opulent chandeliers, polished marble floors, and intricately designed furnishings created a breathtaking atmosphere. The soft hum of conversation and the gentle strains of live music filled the air, adding to the sense of luxury and sophistication.

Storm's hand wrapped around hers, his grip firm but gentle, as he led her toward the elevators. Amber's heart still racing with uncertainty, she couldn't help but notice the way Storm's eyes seemed to command attention, his presence drawing admiring glances from the hotel staff and guests alike.

As they stepped into the elevator, Amber's thoughts swirled with questions. Where were they going? What was Storm's intention? The doors slid open, and Storm guided her down a lavish corridor lined with doors that seemed to lead to suites fit for royalty.

One door swung open, and Storm ushered Amber into a suite that took her breath away. The spacious living area boasted floor-to-ceiling windows offering a stunning view of the city skyline. The décor was a masterful blend of modern elegance and classic sophistication, with plush furnishings and artwork that seemed to whisper tales of luxury and refinement.

Amber's gaze wandered, taking in the suite's opulence, as Storm released her hand and moved toward the bar. "Would you like a drink, Amber?" he asked, his voice low and smooth.

Her mind screamed no but she was really thirsty so she decided to test her fate

"Yes" she replied "A glass of candy cane martini please"

Storm smirked and she was immediately reminded of Alexander oh how much she missed his smirks

As Amber sipped her candy cane martini, the sweetness and tanginess danced on her palate. Storm's eyes never left hers as he set his own drink aside and extended his hand.

"Shall we?" he asked, his voice low and smooth.

Amber's heart skipped a beat as she placed her hand in his, and he led her toward a door that seemed to blend seamlessly into the wall. It swung open, revealing a lavish dining area with a table set for two.

And there, standing by the window, was Alexander. Amber's heart swelled with emotion as she took in the sight of her husband, looking dashing in a tailored tuxedo. Storm released her hand, and Amber rushed toward Alexander, her heels clicking on the marble floor.

"Alexander!" she exclaimed, her voice trembling with relief and joy.

Alexander turned, a smile spreading across his face as he opened his arms to envelop her. "Amber, my love," he whispered, his lips brushing against her ear. "You look stunning."

As Amber wrapped her arms around him, she felt a sense of homecoming, of finally being where she belonged. But her gaze drifted to Storm, who watched them with an unreadable expression. What role had he played in bringing her to this moment? And what lay ahead for the three of them?
"I see you have met storm" Alexander said smirking and Amber twisted her face in anger

"Met him?" Amber's voice rose in indignation. "He kidnapped me! I was supposed to have dinner with you, and I get abducted by this...this stranger!" Her eyes flashed with anger as she turned to Storm, who stood watching with an amused glint in his eye.

Alexander's smirk grew wider, and he chuckled, pulling Amber closer. "Ah, my love, I'm sorry about that. Storm here is an old friend. I asked him to...ah, surprise you with a makeover. I didn't mean for you to be frightened."

Amber's anger didn't dissipate, but she searched Alexander's face for answers. "A makeover? You call being taken from our home and transformed without my consent a makeover?" She raised an eyebrow, her tone skeptical.

Storm shifted slightly, his expression neutral once more. "I apologize if my methods were...unorthodox, Amber. My intention was to bring you to Mr. Alexander in the most...memorable way possible."

Amber wasn't having any of it she was scared out of her wits and now it was just a fvcking plan. She felt sick, sick of both Alexander and Storm

"My love" Alexander said pouting "I'm sorry it was supposed to be a surprise"

Amber's anger and frustration boiled over. "A surprise? You call being kidnapped and manipulated a surprise? You have no idea how I felt, Alexander. I thought I'd lost you, that something had happened to us. And then this...this stranger shows up, and I'm dragged away from our home without a word."

Alexander's pout deepened, and he reached out to stroke her hair. "My love, I understand why you're upset. But I wanted to make tonight special. I wanted to sweep you off your feet, to make you feel like a queen."

Amber pulled away, her eyes flashing. "Special? You call this special? You're going to have to do better than this, Alexander. A lot better."

Storm, who had been watching the exchange with interest, cleared his throat. "If you'll excuse me, I believe my work here is done. Mr. Alexander, I'll take my leave."

Alexander nodded, his eyes never leaving Amber's face. "Thank you, Storm. You've done...exactly what I needed."

As Storm turned to leave, Amber felt a pang of unease. What exactly had Alexander needed? And what lay ahead for her and her husband?

As Storm departed, Alexander extended his hand to Amber, his eyes pleading for forgiveness. "My love, let's put this behind us and enjoy our evening. Dinner is waiting."

Amber hesitated, her anger still simmering, but her curiosity about Alexander's confession piqued her interest. She took his hand, and they sat down to dinner.

The meal was exquisite, with each course expertly prepared and presented. Alexander regaled Amber with stories, and she found herself laughing, her tension easing.

As they finished dessert, Alexander reached across the table, his fingers intertwining with hers. "Amber, from the moment I met you, I knew you were special. You're my everything. I have something important to tell you."

Amber's heart skipped a beat. What could he confess? She leaned in, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm listening."

With a deep breath, Alexander began, "Amber, I..........

"Amber, from the moment I met you, I knew you were the missing piece I never knew I needed. You're the sunshine that brightens my day, the calm in every storm, and the safe haven where I can be myself. You're my best friend, my partner, and my soulmate.

"Your smile lights up my world, your laughter is music to my ears, and your touch sets my heart ablaze. You're the reason I wake up with a sense of purpose, the reason I strive to be better, and the reason I feel alive.

"I'm humbled by your love, grateful for your presence in my life, and overwhelmed with emotion every time I think about you. You're my forever, Amber, my always.

"I know I didn't plan this evening perfectly, but I wanted to show you how much you mean to me. You're the love of my life, and I'm honored to call you mine."

Amber's heart swelled, tears welling up in her eyes. She felt seen, heard, and loved. Alexander's words touched her soul, and she knew in that moment, she felt the same way.

With a trembling voice, Amber replied, "Alexander, I...I feel the same way. You're my rock, my shelter, and my forever home. I love you more than words can express."

As they shared a tender kiss, the world around them melted away, leaving only the two of them, lost in the depths of their love.

CHAPTER FOUR: FAMILY DRAMA

Alexander drove into my family's house and I began to have a rush of Adrenaline. Memories of how my mother died before my very eyes and my father doing nothing to help matters, but having fun with his mistress which he married two weeks after her burial.

Still I tried to please him and my new mother with my annoying little sister but nothing I did was ever enough I was a slave in my mother's house

As I stepped out of the car, the familiar surroundings seemed to shrink, suffocating me with memories I thought I'd left behind. The grand entrance, the lavish decor – everything seemed tainted by the pain and betrayal that lingered within those walls.

Alexander's hand found mine, offering a reassuring presence as we walked towards the door. I hesitated, feeling a knot form in my stomach. The last time I'd been here, things hadn't exactly ended well.

The door swung open, and my father's stern face greeted us. "Amber, Alexander," he said curtly, his eyes narrowing slightly as he took in our joined hands. "Come in."

I felt Alexander's grip on my hand tighten, a silent show of support as we stepped into the lion's den. My stepmother, Victoria, stood just behind him, a mixture of curiosity and disdain etched on her face. And then there was my little sister, Lily, her eyes sparkling with a mischief that usually preceded trouble.

"Father," I said, trying to keep my tone neutral. "What did you want to discuss?"

He gestured for us to follow him into the living room, where a tense silence fell over us. I could feel Alexander's eyes on me, watching for any sign of distress. But I was determined to face whatever this meeting brought head-on.

"Let's get this over with," I said, my voice steady. "What is it that you wanted to talk about?"

My father's expression turned calculating, and I knew whatever was coming wouldn't be good. "We've been discussing your... arrangement," he began, his tone dripping with disapproval. "And we've come to the conclusion that it's not suitable."

I felt a surge of anger, but Alexander's calm presence beside me kept me grounded. "What exactly do you mean by 'not suitable'?" I asked, my voice even.

The air was thick with tension as my father leaned forward, his eyes cold. "We believe it's time for you to return home, Amber. To your family. Where you belong."

My father's words hung in the air like a challenge, and I felt Alexander's grip on my hand tighten in support. I took a deep breath, my voice steady as I responded.

"I'm exactly where I'm meant to be, Father," I said, meeting his gaze without flinching. "I'm happy with Alexander, and our marriage is working for me."

Victoria's eyes narrowed, her voice dripping with venom. "Happy? You call being married to a stranger happiness? You're being used, Amber, and you don't even see it."

I felt a surge of anger, but Alexander's calm demeanor kept me grounded. "That's enough, Victoria," he said, his voice firm but polite. "Amber's happiness is none of your concern."

The tension in the room escalated, with my father and Victoria exchanging a look. Lily, sensing the drama, began to whine and demand attention, but I tuned her out, my focus on the confrontation unfolding before me.

"You're just trying to spite us, Amber," my father accused, his voice rising. "You're trying to punish us for what happened with your mother."

The words cut deep, but I refused to back down. "I'm not trying to punish anyone, Father," I said, my voice firm. "I'm just living my life, and I'm happy with the choices I've made."

The argument continued to escalate, with neither side willing to back down. Alexander's presence remained a steady, reassuring force beside me, but I knew this confrontation was far from over.

As I thought i had had it all Jonas my ex walked in and Lily ran up to him and j was about to lose it. I thought I was done with him bit seeing him a tear escaped my eyes and Alexander wiped it immediately and squeezed my hands gently and gave me a reassuring smile and I returned it with a weak one

"Babe I didn't know you were coming" I heard Lily's annoying voice and I glanced in their way and I could feel Jonas's gaze on myself and I felt wildly uncomfortable with his gaze on me but then Victoria's voice sounded

"Jonas so good of you to join us. We were just about to start the conversation"

"I thought this was a conversation between family" Alexander asked sensing my uneasiness

"Jonas is family at least he will soon be with the child in Lily's womb" My father thundered back and I could feel like my heart was being squeezed not because of Jonas but because of my dad was siding his mistress's child and not his own blood

"She's pregnant with her elder sister's ex boyfriends child. I wonder what type of training you instil in your child Mrs Victoria Lyle. But I can understand she got this attitude from you seeing you stole your best friends' husband weeks after she died" Alexander replied with a cool yet sharp voice

The room fell silent, the tension palpable as Alexander's words hung in the air. Victoria's face turned red with rage, while my father's expression darkened. Lily looked confused, and Jonas seemed taken aback by Alexander's directness.

I felt a surge of pride and gratitude towards Alexander for standing up for me and confronting Victoria about her actions. My father's eyes narrowed, and he took a step forward, but Alexander didn't back down.

"Let's focus on the matter at hand," Alexander continued, his voice unwavering. "Amber's well-being and happiness are what matter. Not your personal agendas or past grievances."

The air was thick with unspoken emotions, but Alexander's calm assertiveness seemed to have shifted the dynamics of the conversation. Victoria's eyes flashed with anger, but she bit back her retort, while my father seemed to be reevaluating his approach.

Jonas, however, looked like he was enjoying the drama, his gaze still fixed on me with an unnerving intensity. I shuddered inwardly, grateful for Alexander's presence and support.

I grabbed his hand and I stood up keeping a livid face

"Let me introduce my husband" I said with a smile and my father gritted his teeth while Alexander stood up confidently

"Meet my husband Alexander Vidal Dexter billionaire and CEO of the Dexter enterprise also the heir of Dexter group of companies"

The room fell silent, with all eyes on Alexander. My father's face turned pale, while Victoria's eyes widened in shock. Lily's mouth hung open, and Jonas looked like he'd been punched in the gut.

I squeezed Alexander's hand, feeling a sense of pride and satisfaction at the introduction. Alexander's confident smile and poised demeanor only added to the impact.

The silence was broken by my father's strained voice. "Alexander Vidal Dexter...the Alexander Dexter?"

Alexander nodded, his smile unwavering. "The one and only."

The room seemed to shrink, with the weight of Alexander's reputation and influence settling in. My father's expression changed from anger to calculation, while Victoria's eyes darted between Alexander and me with a mixture of curiosity and unease.

Jonas, on the other hand, looked like he'd lost his footing, his eyes fixed on Alexander with a mixture of admiration and intimidation. I felt a sense of satisfaction at seeing him taken aback, but my focus remained on Alexander and the way he was handling the situation with ease.

"That's a lie" Lily's thundered and I raised a brow at her and with a sense of pride

"You can look it up if you want" I could see the uneasiness in Lily's eyes as she brought out her phone and searched him online

The room was silent for a few moments, the only sound the tapping of Lily's fingers on her phone screen. Then, her eyes widened in shock, and she looked up at Alexander with a mixture of awe and unease.

"It's true," she muttered, her voice barely above a whisper. "You're really Alexander Vidal Dexter."

The room seemed to shift, with my father's expression changing from skepticism to calculation. Victoria's eyes darted between Alexander and me, her face pale. Jonas looked like he'd been hit with a ton of bricks, his eyes fixed on Alexander with a mixture of admiration and intimidation.

I felt a sense of satisfaction at the way things were unfolding, but Alexander's grip on my hand remained firm and reassuring. He smiled calmly, his eyes never leaving mine.

"I think we've made our point clear," Alexander said, his voice smooth and confident. "Now, let's discuss the reason we were invited to this meeting."

The room fell silent once again, with all eyes on Alexander. It was clear that the dynamics of the meeting had shifted, and Alexander's presence had changed the game.

Alexander held my hands in his as we sat down our whole personality screaming aura and so I glanced in the way of lily and noticed the demeaning look she was giving me and I smirked in return. With Alexander by my side I felt like I was on too of the world

"Lily what's wrong with your face. You look like you've just seen a ghost" I asked with a mocking tone and Alexander laughed out which angered my father but he dared not show it

"Amber you have a man now and you're married would you stop bullying your sister now or does your husband know you have such qualities" Jonas asked in Lily's defence and I rolled my eyes feeling Alexander tensing up beside me and I squeezed his hands gently and gave him a nod

"What was I expecting from a man who left the elder sister for the younger one Mr cheat is does your fiancée know about you despicable character?" I asked mockingly them scoffed

"Oh I bet she does love" Alexander said and a blush crept up my cheek

"She was the second option anyways" He continued and we both laughed hard which hurt my father's ego

"I don't care who you are but I will not tolerate you coming to my house and disrespecting my daughter and her fiancée" My father thundered at us and I felt sick to my stomach

The room erupted into a cacophony of tension, with my father's anger and indignation clashing with Alexander's calm amusement. I felt a surge of adrenaline as Alexander's laughter died down, and he turned to my father with a piercing gaze.

"Disrespecting your daughter and her fiancée?" Alexander repeated, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "You mean the daughter you abandoned and neglected, and the fiancée who's carrying your child out of wedlock?"

The room fell silent, with Lily's eyes wide with shock and Victoria's face pale with rage. Jonas looked like he'd been slapped, his eyes darting between Alexander and my father with a mixture of anger and fear.

My father's face turned red with fury, but Alexander didn't back down. "I think it's time for us to leave," he said, standing up and pulling me with him. "We've made our point clear, and it's clear that we're not welcome here."

As we turned to leave, I felt a sense of liberation wash over me. With Alexander by my side, I knew I didn't need to tolerate my family's toxic behavior anymore.

"Dad" I called getting to his side "I don't know what mom saw in you but I know she will be cursing you wherever she is and I will be back to get all my mother worked hard for all those years"

The words hung in the air like a challenge, and for a moment, it seemed like time itself had frozen. My father's face turned a deep shade of red, and his eyes bulged with rage. Victoria's eyes widened in shock, while Lily looked like she'd been slapped. Jonas's expression was a mixture of surprise and discomfort.

Alexander's grip on my hand tightened, and he pulled me closer to him. "Let's go," he whispered, his voice low and soothing.

As we turned to leave, I felt a sense of satisfaction and vindication. I had finally stood up to my father and spoken my mind. The door closed behind us, and we stepped out into the bright sunlight, leaving the toxic drama of my family behind.

The sound of the car engine roaring to life was a welcome respite from the tension and anger that had filled the air just moments before. As we drove away, I felt a sense of freedom and relief wash over me. I was finally free from the suffocating grip of my family's expectations and demands.
