PSG spotted preparing for controversial Arsenal tactics ahead of Champions League final.

Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain clash in the Champions League final in just just under three weeks time but it appears that the French giants are already preparing for the game.

Paris Saint-Germain’s preparations for the Champions League final are in full swing, with the French side already practicing set pieces. Arsenal take on the Ligue 1 giants in the final on May 30 in Budapest.

Before that game however, Luis Enrique’s side still have plenty to consider. They have not yet been officially crowned as French champions; they sit six points clear of Lens with two games of the season remaining. They will take on their nearest rivals on Wednesday evening before a clash with neighbours Paris FC on the final day. But it appears that their priority is their showdown with the Gunners.

Footage from training has shown the French side preparing for Arsenal’s threat from set pieces. Goalkeepers Matvéi Safónov and Lucas Chevalier were spotted going through corner and free kick routines in footage shared by French publication RMC Sport.

Arsenal have become one of the most effective sides in the Premier League from set pieces since Mikel Arteta’s arrival at the Emirates Stadium. However, they have faced criticism recently, particularly after West Ham’s late goal was ruled out in their win at the London Stadium for an apparent foul on David Raya.

Luis Enrique has already spoken out on his preparations for the Champions League final, having chosen not to attend the UNFP award ceremony this week.

The Spanish coach said: “I never go to these kinds of events, I prefer to stay home, I need to study Arsenal. But I’m very happy to see PSG players recognised, it’s well deserved.

“Those who win trophies do so because they deserve them. Congratulations to Pierre Sage, who deserved the best coach award. What he did this season at Lens is incredible.”

Speaking about his side’s end to the season, Enrique added: “We have to know how to manage the last two matches. The problem is that the Lens match comes three days after the Brest match. It’s very short.

“We have injured players and others who have played two matches in a row. We have to manage it. Three days is the shortest time between two matches. We will aim to manage it individually, as we have always done this season.

“Tomorrow, we will show what kind of team we are, our ambition. Every time we wear the PSG jersey, it’s a responsibility. Tomorrow, I see it as a celebration, in one of the best stadiums in France in terms of atmosphere. We are motivated to play this match. And it’s the best preparation to reach the Champions League final.

“We’ll play a match the weekend before the final. We’ll prepare for the training load. But I’m not worried. When your goal is a Champions League final, you’re ready after a month or even a day of rest. It won’t be a problem.”

Former Arsenal star Torreira punched in shopping centre as suspect 'jealous of his relationship'.

Lucas Torreira is pursuing charges in Turkey after being attacked in a shopping centre by a man allegedly jealous of the former Arsenal star's relationship.

Torreira, who joined Turkish giants Galatasaray from Arsenal in 2022, was attacked outside of a cafe in the Beyoglu district of Istanbul on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old had taken photos with fans, before being surprised by the alleged assailant.

The suspect was claimed to have planned his attack having waited outside of a shopping centre for Torreira.

Torreira informed police that one of his friends and his driver intervened, with the latter punching the man in response to separate them.

Footage published by Turkish media showed the suspect being kicked when on the ground, before attempting to flee the scene.

The suspect, described as YY by police, and Torreira's driver were both reportedly detained with an investigation launched.

'A man came up to me and said he wanted to take a picture with me. After taking a picture with him, I saw another man approaching, and I thought he also wanted to take a picture,' Torreira said in a statement to police, as reported by CNN Turk.

'After he got close, he suddenly punched me in the left side of my head. I didn't understand what was happening.

'I tried to defend myself, and my driver and my friend, who were there at the time, came to my aid to protect me and remove the individual from the scene. After separating us, the person got into a taxi and tried to drive away. I did not physically assault this person in any way.

'I don't know why he did something like that, I've never seen him before. Following the incident, I went to the hospital for a check-up and I want to submit my reports to you, the officials. I have a headache because of the incident.

'I am filing a complaint and pressing charges against the person in question who assaulted me and caused my injuries.'

An examination revealed Torreira had 'redness between his left eyebrow and eye' after being struck.

A police statement confirmed the suspect would be brought to court on Wednesday.

Arsenal's White out for the season and World Cup with knee injury

Arsenal have confirmed that defender Ben White will miss the rest of their Premier League title run-in after sustaining a knee injury in Sunday's win over West Ham.

White, who has made 30 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners in 2025-26, is also set to miss England's World Cup campaign.

The 28-year-old was replaced by Martin Zubimendi in the 28th minute of Arsenal's huge 1-0 win at the weekend and was seen leaving the London Stadium in a knee brace.

In a statement, the club said White has sustained a "significant medial ligament injury" which will rule him out of the last two Premier League games and the Champions League final.

"Our medical team are now managing Ben's recovery and rehabilitation programme, with everyone fully focused on supporting the aim of Ben being ready for the start of our pre-season preparations," the statement added.

White's injury will provide Mikel Arteta with a decision to make in the right-back position, having initially shifted Declan Rice into that role before introducing Cristhian Mosquera at half-time against West Ham.

Sneijder: Arsenal Beating PSG 1-0 Would Be an Amazing Achievement

Sneijder said that he is more optimistic about Paris in the Champions League final, but Arsenal do not easily lose the ball. Two top central defenders have built a very solid defense. The full-backs will be the key to victory. If Arsenal can win Paris 1-0, it will definitely be a remarkable achievement.

Arsenal eliminated Atletico Madrid last week to enter the final. Under the leadership of Mikel Arteta, the team is expected to win the league and Champions League double. At present, they also hold the initiative to win the Premier League.

But their final opponent is the defending champion PSG, which can be described as one of the most threatening powerhouses in European football. Paris showed their strength in the semi-final against Bayern, playing a wonderful attacking football in the first leg and winning 5-4; in the second leg, they withstood the pressure with a solid defense and successfully advanced.

The Ligue 1 powerhouse defeated Inter 5-0 in last year's final, setting a record for the biggest win difference in Champions League final history.

Sneijder, who won the Champions League with Inter in 2010, believes that the performance of the full-backs will be the key to victory in this final. He said that if Jurrien Timber can recover from injury in time, it will be crucial for Arsenal.

The Dutch legend does not rule out the possibility of Arsenal winning with a pragmatic style of play, but he is more optimistic that Paris under Luis Enrique can stage a big win in Budapest.

Sneijder said in an interview:

"If I were to predict the outcome, I would be more optimistic about Paris. However, Arsenal do not easily concede goals, and two top central defenders have built a very solid defense.

I don't think Arsenal's full-backs are up to the top European level, and that's where Paris's advantage lies, especially the left-wing attack is very lethal.

All Arsenal fans hope that Timber can recover from injury in time for the final. Without him, the game will be extremely difficult. But Arsenal also knows how to cover and make up for positions, and Declan Rice can fall back to strengthen the defense.

This final will be very interesting. I think the trend may be similar to last year's final between Inter and Paris, and it may even reproduce a big score, such as five to zero. Before the game, everyone thought that Paris had the advantage, while Inter had a strong defense and sharp counterattacks. At that time, the outside world also speculated that there might be an upset 1-0 win, or a disastrous defeat. Now I have the same view of Arsenal.

It is possible to have a dull 1-0 victory. What I mean by dull is not derogatory. Being able to keep Paris scoreless is a very strong performance in itself, but it is extremely difficult to do.

If Arsenal can really win 1-0, it will definitely be a remarkable achievement. But in my opinion, it is too difficult to face Paris without conceding a goal. So the result is likely to be only two: either Paris wins 3-0 or 4-0, or Arsenal wins 1-0 to win the championship."

Mundo Deportivo: Barcelona's Interest in Gordon Advances Beyond Rumors.

According to a report in "Daily Sports News", Gordon's situation has escalated from "linked with Barcelona" to a more substantial move in just a few hours, as the media photographed the player's agent meeting with Barcelona sporting director Deco. Flick highly appreciates this English attacker who can play as a winger and also fill in as a center forward, but his contract with Newcastle runs until 2030 and his high transfer fee is the biggest obstacle to a deal.

Gordon's name has quickly fermented within hours: after "Daily Sports News" photographed his agent team meeting with Barcelona sporting director Deco, the outside world no longer regards this as just a general transfer rumor. In order to understand how Newcastle locals view Barcelona's interest and the real possibility of Gordon wearing a Barcelona jersey next season.

Sean McCormick admitted that the picture of the agent and Deco in the same frame caused a shock within Newcastle circles. He said: "Everyone assumes that a star player will be sold this summer, and Newcastle CEO David Hopkinson has also admitted this. In addition to Gordon, Tonali and Livramento are also attracting external interest."

Both reporters focused on Gordon's high price tag. The Chronical Live reporter pointed out: "Newcastle have priced Gordon at £80 million (€92 million). Although there is room for negotiation, I don't think it will drop too much." He added: "He has also been closely linked with Bayern, but Bayern also seems unwilling to pay this level of money. Liverpool and Arsenal are also interested, but Newcastle would rather sell him to other clubs than to domestic competitors in England."

Raff Tindale reminded of a factor that would further increase costs: "Since Newcastle signed him from Everton in 2023, Everton has a 15% repurchase clause." This means that Newcastle will also be tougher in negotiations.

Tindale also emphasized that the city on the River Tyne is still reeling from Isak's "uncomfortable departure" last summer. "If Gordon eventually leaves, the way he leaves will completely determine how Newcastle fans remember him: if they part on good terms, he will be regarded as a hero; if he tries to force a transfer, he will be regarded as a traitor." He mentioned that Gordon refused to participate in training for three consecutive days before leaving Everton that year. McCormick also sighed: "Newcastle is still suffering the consequences of Isak joining Liverpool on the last day of the transfer window."

Talking about the competitive level, both believe that Gordon would be a heavyweight addition to Barcelona. The Hayters TV reporter said: "He is very suitable for Barcelona. He has proven that he can play at the highest level and is the kind of player who can change the outcome of the game on his own." He further said: "Signing a player who can operate across the entire front line would be a stroke of genius. He has all the conditions to grow into a top European winger under Flick's training."

Sean McCormick commented: "Gordon is extremely fast, has excellent dribbling ability, and can continuously create threats in the attacking third. He is very adaptable to high-confrontation, strong physical environments, and is also technically delicate, meeting all requirements."

Both reporters also unanimously mentioned Gordon's personality traits off the field: once he wants something, he can often achieve it. McCormick revealed: "He is very shrewd and ambitious, and has always clearly expressed that he wants to stand at the top of football. He also firmly believes in 'success psychology' and likes to meditate." Tindale added: "One of Gordon's greatest strengths is confidence. The pressure of playing for Barcelona will definitely not affect him."
